Beltangady, Apr 29 (Friday, 12-05 pm): A slight panic was created in Madantyar bazar when a jeep hit a bike and the rider was slightly injured in the collision on Thursday.

Although it was a minor mishap, the rider had fallen to the ground. He was reportedly carrying home fowl meat in a bag from a nearby chicken shop. The meat splashed on the ground with the fresh blood from it oozing all over the place. Immediate passers-by mistook it for a fatal injury to the bike-rider.

They immediately alerted the police in Beltangady and they rushed to the spot, only to realize it was not the human blood after all. The bike-riker Rafiq was found very much alive with minor injuries, and is now recovering in a hospital.
