Free Asthma Camp at KMC on May 2

Mangalore: KMC Hospital will be organising a free Asthama camp as part of World Asthma Day on May 2 at KMC Attavar. The World Asthma Day is observed on the first Tuesday in May. The department of chest and allergy will give free consultation to all the patients and also give free education on asthma in Kannada as well as Malayalam on May 2 between 9 and 4 pm

The World Asthma Day is organized by Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) in association with World Health Organisation and US National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. The theme for this is ‘Unmet needs of Asthma.’

In Manipal, KMC Hospital will organize a ‘Breathe Free Clinic’ on May 2. There will be check up worth Rs 350 which will include consultation by Chest and Allergy Physician and PFT, done by Department of Chest and Allergy.


Aptech Plans Launch of ACCP- 2006

Mangalore: Aptech Computer Education will launch its new programme Power Packed Career Programme- ACCP 2006 with one year of internship.

Aptech Regional Head (Karnataka and Goa) Sandeep Shetty said that the programme aimed at giving the students the latest and in-demand technologies, providing work environment exposure through one-year internship programmes.

The three-year modular of ACCP-2006 has nine trimesters. The syllabus was designed after getting feedback from the software and web designing companies, he informed.


Chinnara Bimba from May 3 to May 7

Mangalore: Children’s wing of Kala Jagatthu, a cultural organization from Mumbai will organize Chinnara Bimba at various parts of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada district from May 3 to May 7.

Chinnara Bimba, a collage of different cultural and folk performances, including dances, songs, bhajans and Yakshagana in Kannada and Tulu language, said Kala Jagatthu president Vijaykumar Shetty at a press meet here on Saturday.

As part of the Chinnara Bimba programme, Kala Jagatthu will stage its famous drama Sharashayye at Admar in Udupi on May 3, while the children will perform at Dharmastala on Thursday May 4, Town Hall on May 5, Udupi Krishna Math on May 6 and Moodbidri Samaj Mandir on May 7.

Orthopedic Conference

Mangalore: The 24th Mangalore orthopedic conference was inaugurated at Dr T M A Pai Convention Centre recently. The event was organized by KMC Mangalore in collaboration with Government Wenlock Hospital and Karnataka Orthopedic Association.
