Karkala, Apr 30: Iqbal Hussain, a theatre personality and an entrepreneur died on Saturday in a road accident.

Iqbal (45) died on the spot after his scooter rammed into a bus on the road near Gandhi Maiden cross here. A resident of Pulkeri, Iqbal was an entrepreneur. He had to his credit five Tulu dramas and had organized drama performances through his troupe at several places in the district.

A man who firmly believed in social harmony died with his new drama on communal amity unfinished.

Iqbal was also a member of the school development committee and was one of the directors of the Sauharda Mandir.

The road mishap resulted in major head injuries and Iqbal died instantly on road. He was on his way home after repaying the loan amount at DCC Bank Karkala.
Apex Bank chairman Rajendra Prasad, Karkala Jamat president Asfak Ahmed and several other participated in the final rites.

He is survived by mother, wife and two little children.
