Mangalore, May 1: The silver jubilee celebration of St Joseph the worker church, Vamanjoor was held on May 1 with great fervour. A thanksgiving Eucharist was offered by Bishop of Mangalore Fr Aloysius Paul D’Souza.

At the former stage programme held in the church the Bishop honoured former vice presidents of the church council and also those priests who served as parish priests in the church.

Fr Cyprian Coelho released the souvenir and the Bishop honoured all the parish council members, while Fr Edwin Pinto who was instrumental in setting up the church recalled those days of hardships in building the church. Fr Pinto who will be celebrating his birthday on May 2 was felicitated on behalf of the parish.

The parish priest of the church Fr Alphonus D’Lima was felicitated the Bishop on behalf of the parish.

Vice president of the parish council Doreen D’Cunha and others were also present on the occasion.
