Beltangady, May 2: In a shocking incident, Anni Poojary, son of Sheshappa Poojary (60), is said to have thrown acid on his father, after his tiff with him over not having given him a share in the property.
The episode took place in the early hours of Monday, May 1, in Kombityaru-Mittabagilu near here. The son also had a grouse that a separate house was not built for him by his father.
Seriously injured, Sheshappa Poojary was rushed to the Government Wenlock Hospital, Mangalore, but he passed away around 2-45 pm.
During the acid attack, Anni and Ananda Poojary have sustained acid-throw effects. While Ananda has been hospitalized in Mangalore, the accused Anni is recovering in a hospital in Beltangady.
The mother of Anni and Ananda has been accused of instigating the dispute and a case has been file against her too, besides against Anni.
