Mangalore, May 3: P Krishna Aithal (52), an official with the Corporation Bank main branch here was killed in a tempo-mobike collision near Mangala Swimming Pool here on Tuesday May 2 morning.

On Tuesday morning he was on his way to the city around 7.30 am on his mobike when a speeding 407 tempo knocked him down in front of the Canara Bank ATM near the Mangala Swimming Pool.

As a result Krishna Aithal sustained serious injuries and was admitted to Wenlock Hospital immediately.  However, he succumbed to the injuries later in the hospital.

The family sources said that his daughter had given birth to baby girl recently at Bangalore.  So he had planned to go to Bangalore and bring his daughter and granddaughter home on Tuesday evening. Before going he wanted to do some shopping and was on his way to the city when the accident took place.

The Barke police have booked a case against the tempo driver in this regard.
