Mangalore, May 4: Noted Konkani litterateur Victor Rodrigues, Anjelore has been chosen for the annual Danti Award for the year 2006 given by Catholic Sabha Mangalore region.

Danti Award is the annual award by Catholic Sabha for best Kannada book for the year written by Konkani writers.  "Arogya Darshini", a book on health and medicine written by Victor Rodrigues has won him the Danti Award - 2006.  Victor Rodrigues was recently conferred with the prestigious Daiji Dubai Literary Award given by UAE based Daiji Dubai Writers Forum.

The present book "Arogya Darshini" was released on December 3, 2005.  The book has been published by Lions Club Mangalore.  The book contains useful detailed information about 21 different kinds of diseases and the medication for the same.

Victor Rodgrigues is one of the most prolific writers of Konkani.  He is a household name with his numerous serial stories.  He has also written articles, books on health, politics, social problems etc.
