Udupi, May 4: Alban Nazareth, prime accused in the Violet D'Souza murder case of Kanajar near Karkala here has been rewarded with 2 years of Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) and a fine of Rs 25,000 by district Sessions Court.

Background:
Alban Nazareth had a property dispute with his father John Baptist for long.  He used to in involve fights with his parents over the division property.  On May 20, 2004 he was fighting with his father over the same issue when his married sister Violet D'Souza came in between to stop the fight. 

Enraged by her entry, Alban had stabbed Violet on her neck with sickle.  As a result Violet had died on the spot.  A complaint was filed in the Hiriadka police station in this regard.  Brahmavar CI Vidyashankar had filed the charge sheet after investigating the case.
