Mangalore, May 4: Senior BJP leader Pramod Mahajan was paid rich tributes by party men and others at a condolence meet organized by BJP at the party office here on Thursday May 4 morning.  Pramod Mahajan had died in Hinduja Hospital on Wednesday May 3 evening, twelve days after being shot by his brother Praveen Mahajan at his residence in Worli, Mumbai.

The condolence meet began after lighting the lamp in front of his portrait.


Speaking on the occasion former MLA Kumble Sundar Rao said that the death of Pramod Mahajan is not only a loss to BJP but also the entire nation. "He was one of the most powerful, versatile and promising leaders of the country.  He was one of the best candidates for the post of Prime Minister if at all fate had willed it so," he added.


MLA Yogish Bhat called on young BJP leaders to take a leaf out from the life of Pramod Mahajan and grow with discipline in the party to serve the country.  State fisheries minister B Nagraj Shetty, district BJP president Pratapsimha Nayak, spokespersons Monappa Bhandary, Vishweshwar Bhat, Nalin Kumar Rai and others were also present at the condolence meeting.
