Mangalore, Jan 1: Former state minister and BJP leader C T Ravi on Wednesday January 1 said that Congress government has failed to take appropriate measures to prevent crimes in the city and that criminals were being 'protected' by the government.

Addressing a press meet during his visit to the city, C T Ravi said, "On December 18 two students were kidnapped and blackmailed by a group (at Deralakatte), but still the government seems helpless, because of which Mangaloreans are scared. Rape, blue film, kidnapping and all such things are supposed to stop. Those two students who were kidnapped have not yet been subjected to medical examination. We want to know reason for this.

"Police are neglecting these things because of some reason, which we are trying to find out. Those criminals (who kidnapped the students) were well trained and knew how to kidnap. From the past few years more than 3,000 females have gone missing and we believe there is a big connection with the Deralakatte incident and the missing cases," he said.

"Blackmailing, drug mafia, kidnapping for prostitution, and love jihad were all part of the Deralakatte incident. But the Congress government is not taking any responsibility despite knowing all this. When Padil home stay incident took place, our BJP government was in power and Congress people had pointed fingers at us. But what are they doing now?"

"District incharge minister Ramanath Rai had said that moral policing would not be tolerated, so why is the Congress government protecting those criminals?"

"I request our home minister, district incharge minister and the government to take stringent steps immediately to prevent such crimes in future. Serious action must be take against the accused. If the Congress government does not take action, the BJP will step into the streets to protest. FIR must be filed against the accused at the earliest," he said.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Capt Ganesh Karnik and others were present.

No matter who is ruling... illegal activities should be condemned & criminals should be punished severely irrespective of cast, creed, party.

But, this same CT Ravi didn't call press meet, when some BJP leaders caught red handed in sex scandals, prostitution rackets, a few months back !!!

First of all we need to amend the law to hang criminals (especially Deralakatte group kidnapped & blackmail) and secondly need to give harsh punishment to moral policing, cow thieves & communals etc etc.

Mr. Ravi said Quote” From the past few years more than 3,000 females have gone missing” Unquote Mr. Ravi your government was there in last 5 years. Are you slept during last 5 years? Why did not search 3,000 females and why you do not bring the culprits on book and why you do not stop moral policing. Your people felicitated (NAMO BRIGADE) home stay attackers after their bail.

Mr. Jossey Saldanha, Mapusa....Please put your records straight. Law & Order was far better when BJP was there. See now everywhere crime is increasing. I do agree that there was a difference of opinion between their own people but it never stopped the development. National surveys says. We cannot expect anything from sleeping Siddu and his lazy stereo type ministers.

C.T. Ravi, first you need to study the Law of our Country. You should know that -
MINOR and MINORITY come under the juvenile justice Law. So, no harsh punishment even for Rape and Murder OR Treason !

WHY POLICE DELAY IN FILING FIR AGAINST THOSE WHO WERE CAUGHT ?
THEY MIGHT BE WATCHING WHICH SIDE WILL BE THE HIGHEST BIDDERS AND ACT ACCORDINGLY. OTHERWISE LET THEM SAY THE PROGRESS THRU MEDIA SO THAT PEOPLE CAN TRUST THEM.
SIMPLY CHANTING THE SAME MANTRA OF GOONDA ACT WILL NOT BE SUFFICIENT.

Both BJP and CONgress should be kicked out from Karnataka and India...

I don't think if Sushma is in place of Sonia she will be any better than Sonia Corruption wise....

These two corrupt parties think they are the only options available to Indian electorate...

Till Yeddy took over ,,, I was thinking BJP is less corrupt than CONgress ....after seeing Yeddy, Shobhakka, Eshwarappa, Nirani, Katta, Ashok,DVS,Ravi and many more ....I know for sure there is no difference between BJP and CONgress...

Both these corrupt parties need "Broom Therapy"...

Helloo Mr. Ravi.Had you taken sufficient measures ,You would have retained your seat as well as saved the 3000 girls missing for the past few years.Instead of supporting moral policing you should have paid more attention to all such kinds of crimes prevailing then. Now do not interfere in our city affairs and allow the Govt. to do whatever they feel the best.

Dear Mr.Ravi, regarding Deralakatte incident police has arrested the culprits already and investigation is going on. Police and govt have done a very good job on this. Now the court will decide what punishment to be given to them, if they convicted. No need to do unnecessary press meet from your end just for a show.
