Bangalore: Man killed, three hurt as wheeling stunt turns fatal

Bangalore, Jan 2 (DHNS): A New Year reveller was killed and three other motorcyclists were injured when he ploughed his two-wheeler into two motorcycles as his wheeling stunt turned fatal near Town Hall in the early hours of Wednesday, police said.

Saleem, 24, a cab driver from Valmiki Nagar, Mysore Road, was riding home on his friend’s scooter after seeing in the New Year on M G Road when the accident occurred.

Police suspect that he was drunk and wheeling near the BBMP head office when he apparently lost control over the two-wheeler which then collided head-on with two motorcycles coming from J C Road, police sources explained.

Three other motorcyclists, Sandeep, Chethan and Kailash, were injured.

Saleem fell off the bike and suffered a major head injury. He was rushed to Victoria Hospital but died later. While Sandeep and Chethan are being treated at Victoria Hospital, Kailash was taken to the BGS Global Hospital. They are all said to be stable.

The Halasurugate traffic police have booked a case in this regard.
