Puttur, May 6: All good work needs money. This being the order of the day, development of any kind requires funds.

Puttur which has been waiting for funds for development works is now happy. The Puttur Constituency has received a funding of Rs 43 lac for various development works in Puttur Constituency.

This funding includes Rs 18 lac from the MLA’s Area Development Fund and Rs 25 lac from Chief Minister’s Grameen Sadak Yojana (CMGSY).

Out of this Rs 1 lac has been granted for the development of playground, entrance and gate at Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Higher Primary School, Nerla in Inchalampady village, Bolanja-Marakor road bituminization at Chikkamudnoor village, Mahalingeshwara Temple-Baliguli road at Bettampady village and several other works.

New roads will be constructed from Sampya to Barike, Endesasgu to Majjaradka at Aridka village, Darbeguthu-Pottamoole road at Kadambady village, Shambuga road at Mani village and Sarapya-Modathar road in Biliyoor village.

An amount of Rs 2 lac each have been granted or bituminization of Kolthige-Duggala road at Kolthige village and Rs 1.5 lac each for the development of the road from Kumbra Bollady-Ullaltimada road of Olamogru village and at Poyyamole of Punacha village.

Several other roads in the constituency will be given a facelift with the funding.
