Puttur, May 6: A APMC trade shifting issue which has been in news recently has a new development.
The State High Court has issued a stay order against the Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee (APMC), for their move to direct the traders to shift to the APMC yard.
The traders had in the two years, been shifted twice to the yard by the APMC. But they returned to their original places of sale, from the yard, which was built at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore.
Since the Court had authorized the APMC to take necessary action on traders, it refrained from renewing the license of 27 traders. Few shops were also raided in the past week.
However the traders have approached the court with the complaint that only arecanut dealers are forced to shift trade and not other agriculture produces.
