New Delhi, May 6:
Parthiv Patel admits that Mahendra Singh Dhoni has raised the bar for other wicketkeepers but says he has not lost hope of staging a comeback to the Indian squad.

The 22-year-old Gujarat wicketkeeper said Dhoni had left all the other keepers in the country behind with his performances in front of the stumps.

"Dhoni is no doubt a very good cricketer. He has raised the bar for other keepers. It has become more difficult than ever before to break into the team," Parthiv told PTI Bhasha.

However Parthiv, who has played 19 Tests and 14 ODIs for India, has not lost hope of donning the India colours again.

"I am paying a lot of attention to both my wicketkeeping and batting. I am working hard and whenever I will get a chance, I will try to prove myself. I am just waiting for one good opportunity."

Parthiv performed well in the last domestic season, earning a recall to the squad for the tour of Pakistan. But the diminutive keeper, however, did not get a chance to make it to the playing eleven.
