Al Khobar: Lancy Moras Nite-6 enthralls audience at SKY event

Al Khobar, Jan 3: Saudi Konkan Youngsters (SKY), Dammam celebrated its annual event “Nathalanchi Saanz” recently at Dhahran International Hotel, Al Khobar. The programme started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the SKY executive committee members.

An introduction by compere Roshan D’Souza, Valencia was followed by prayer led by Veena D’Souza. A tableau was performed by JCCF Dammam and carols were sung by the little children, organized by Ronald Anita Sequiera.

The highlight of the evening was 'Lancy Moras Nite – 6'. Lancy Moras is a well-known singer in the Konkani music world. Konkani music lovers in the eastern province enjoyed his melodious songs. Talented singers Eric D’Sa, Shallet Menezes, Eden D’Sa, Vanessa Saldanha and Sharon Fernandes too enthralled the gathering. The thrilling show was compered by Ronald Fernandes, Shirthady.

The audience was kept engrossed by a series of entertaining items. Kids and adults performed a variety of cultural programmes like solo, group dances, Bharatnatyam, skits, tiger dance and Konkani songs were greeted with a loud applause from the audience. Raffle draw and door prizes were given away to the winners.

Distinguished guests Lancy Moras and Edwin Gomes were honoured with shawl and bouquet. All the sponsors were felicitated with bouquets by SKY committee members.

The surprise guest was Santa Claus with his Jingling bells and a bag full of chocolates which made the children run after him.

President Ronald Fernandes, Shirthady welcomed the guests and expressed his heartfelt thanks to all the sponsors for their continuous support and members for their dedicated services. Shamala Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks.

Delicious sumptuous dinner was served which was relished by one and all. Around 400 plus Konkani speaking people including kids and teenagers actively participated in this family event. People truly enjoyed the evening to the fullest.
