Mangalore, May 7: Accusing K Ashraf , Mayor, Mangalore City Corporation, for not solving the water crisis in the city, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) district unit, has demanded his resignation.

Addressing a press meet here on Saturday May 6, Pratapsimha Nayak, president, BJP district unit, said that the mayor was not compiling with his own assurances that action would be taken against those pilfering water, and that the people have to put up with acute water shortage, owing to the negligence of the City Corporation. 

The Corporation had also failed to attend to the problem of shortage of water at the Thumbe vented dam, he alleged.

He added that a complaint will be given to the chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, regarding the failure of the city corporation in executing the developmental works.
