Dammam: SFF awards winners of essay contest

Dammam, Jan 6:
Students Fraternity Forum (SFF) held Students’ Fest ‘13 and prize distribution ceremony for the winners of essay contest conducted in relation with Gandhi Jayanthi. The occasion was graced by the presence of important personalities from educational, social, cultural and media fields, students, teachers and parents from almost all regions of eastern province from different spheres of life.
 
The program was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr Mohamed Shafi (Prominent Educationist and Principal of IIS, Dammam).

                    

He praised the activities of Students Fraternity Forum to guide the students by giving chance to understand the teaching and ideals of Mahatma Gandhi by conducting this essay contest. And he promised his full support for the activities of Forum aims the growth and development of the students in curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular fields.

The function was presided over by Moosakutty (Saudi Zonal Patron, Students Fraternity Forum). He described the activities of Students Fraternity in details in his presidential address. Students Fraternity is conducting many programs for students such as; career guidance, pavithram (Program designed for building confidence in students for facing examination), arts festivals and sports meets, etc he said. And it is very proud to say that, Students Fraternity did a remarkable service for the Hajj pilgrims this year, he added. 

He also pointed out and said "there is no much efforts done from our side to know the culture of Saudi Arabia yet, as we are living here more effort is required to understand this great nations culture then only possible the cultural exchange between  nations.  Nazeeb Pathanapuram, the program convener welcomed in the event."
 
Thirunavakarasu (Managing committee chairman, IIS Dammam), Shalin Arshad (Academic Counselor, Almuna international School Dammam), Sumayya Arif (Head Mistress, Dunes International School Dammam),  Ajithkumar (Vice Principal, Sunshine International School Dammam), PAM Haris (Chairman, Media Forum Dammam), Mohamed Amir (India Fraternity Forum Urdu chapter), Mohamed Faisal (India Fraternity Forum Tamil Chapter), Haneef Jokatte (India Fraternity Forum Karnataka), Noushad Thazhawa (Convener, Kollam Paithrikam) were felicitated the program. Rajkumar (Administration Manager, Dossary Hospital), Saleem Chathannoor (OICC), Shareef (General Manager KLF), Dr Rajan Chopra (Alhassa) were presented.

The prizes were distributed by Mr. Russel, Manager Dadabhai Travels Alkhobar and Mr. Noushad Kollam, Business development Manager Shifa Alkhobar polyclinic for 1st & 2nd places respectively.
 
Cultural events began at 5:30 pm with the Qira’ath of Fathima Burhana. It was colorful with variety of performance by students such as; Oppana, Daffu muttu, Arabian traditional dance, Gazal, variety of songs, Karate demo, etc.  Performance of Aysha Hussain, Kalayani Rajkumar, Laxmi Rajkumar, Sulathana Rafi, Irfan Majeed, Marwa Sharafudheen, Asna, Mohamed Husssain, and Swalih Noushad were gained the clap of audience very much. And the student’s Karate demo arranged by Sensi Nazar was one of the attractive items in the fest. Trophies and certificates were given to all who participated in the cultural events.
 
Another attractive item of the fest was the drawing exhibition with the pictures drawn by students. A huge number of pictures were exhibited and Althaf Musthafa (IIS Dammam) won the best picture award selected through the audience voting.
 
Dadabhai Travels, Shifa Alkhobar Polyclinic, Al Subayed Trading (KLF), Malila Trading (Hi tea), Salamatak hospital, Lulu Hypermarket, Nesto Hypermarket, Grandmart Hyper, Global Express cargo, ABC Cargo, Joy Alukkas jwellery, Dhana Juice, Silk Centre, Mohamed Dossary Hospital, Xpress Money,  were the main sponsors.
 
Abdul Ali Kalathingal and Milana Nourin were the emcees.  Abdul Latheef Karunagappally, Abdul Rasheed Cheruvadi, Ameen Master, Abdul Latheef Alanalloor, Zubair Narath, Shareef Kottayam, Shajahan Ayyaril, Hussain Kollam, Abdul Salam Salam Master, Nameer Chervadi, Ameer Ali  managed the program. Mohamed Hussain Noushad (President, Students Fraternity Forum Dammam) thanked in the event. The program committee conveyed special thanks to all who support the event to become a great success especially event sponsors, parents, teachers and media persons.
