Mangalore, May 8: The District Crime Investigation Bureau police have arrested a vehicle lifer and have seized 2 mobikes from him on Monday May 8 morning.

The arrested has been identified as Salim Nalakat (26), hailing from Goa but presently residing in the city

The police had initiated enquiry after a new Bajaj Pulsar mobike (KA 19 - Q - 9227) of Dr Naveen was stolen from the Athena Hospital area on Tuesday April 25.  Subsequently, Dr Naveen had lodged a complaint with the Kadri police in this regard.

The police arrested him on Monday at Jeppu-Mahakalipadpu and first seized Bajaj Pulsar bike.  The police also seized another Hero Honda Splendour bike which he had stolen earlier from Balmata.

The police sources said that he has also revealed that he has stolen many more mobikes earlier.  The details in this regard are yet to be released.  He also revealed that he had been addicted to alcohol and was stealing vehicles in order to get money for alcohol.
