Mangalore, Jan 7: "The Jagruta Mahila Vedike will hold a district-level mass protest rally and awareness programme on Thursday December 9 from Ambedkar circle to DC's office against the brutal incident of kidnap and forced sex on a student at Deralakatte. BJP leaders Sushma Swaraj, Smriti Irani, Uma Bharti, and Mamatha Yadav of ABVP will take part in this programme," said Dr Kamala Prabhakar Bhat, honorary president of Jagruta Mahila Vedike.

Addressing a press meet here on Monday January 6, she said, "Although from past 10 years 3,000 girls have gone missing, the government has not taken any action. Even in Deralakatte incident the police failed to frame rape charges initially, hence women do not have any security."

Kamala Bhat expressed doubts of conspiracy by naming the other person who was kidnapped with the girl, and said that 'a thorough probe should be done on this matter'.

At this, a few media persons pointed out, "You have revealed the name of the victim’s friend which will lead to the disclosing of the victim's identity."

An argument over revealing of the kidnapped youth's name thus ensued between the journalists and members of Jagruta Mahila Vedike.

Asha Jagadish said, "The victim girl clearly mentioned his name in the complaint, and Jagruta Mahila Vedike suspects the victim's friend's involvement in the incident, and hence proper probe should be conducted."

After a few rounds of heated exchange of words, the journalists said that they should not have revealed the name of youth and walked out from the press meet.

Why all three madams of one single party? Why madams of other prominent parties remain uninvited? Why give political colour to a criminal issue? What does Jagruta Mahila Vedike intend to convey to the public? Does it mean leaders of uninvited parties are in favor of those criminals?

Reported 3000 girls are missing for the past 10 years. Why were these ladies silent during their 5 year rule.Participation of BJP leaders from outside the district is an insult to the leaders of the district which proves that the women leaders of the district are not capable of handling the situation .Otherwise this would not have happened during the last 5 years.
Anyway, the NRI's pooled funds has to be utilized.
    Maja maadi.
Yerla barad povad action has to be taken only by the persons concerned.

A Girl is a daughter to her parents,
    A sister to her brothers,
    A Wife to her husband,
    A mother to her children.

Definitely not a curse to be born as a girl. Change the way we look at them, treat them and respect them...

Go with your flags, but ensure that, If ABVP, and BJP raise their flags then only you raise the flags, and whole protest will be like SAJJIGE BAJIL political protest against the forced sex case.

At least victim will get the justice.
