Moodbidri, May 10: Alvas Sanjeevini, a three-day national seminar on Dravyaguna Vijnana and Herbal Expo will begin at the Alvas here from May 11.

The event is being organized jointly by the Alvas College of Medical Science, Alvas Education Foundation and the department of horticulture, government of Karnataka.

This information was provided by Foundation chairman Dr M Mohan Alva at a press conference held here.

State minister for horticulture, fisheries, harbour and endowments B Nagaraj Shetty will inaugurate the seminar. Minister for health and family welfare R Ashok will preside over the function

Horticulture official Dr G K Vasant Kumar, Dr B N Prakash, Mulki-Moodbidri MLA K Abhayachandra Jain and former minister Amaranath Shetty will be chief guests.

MAHE vice chancellor Dr H S Ballal, minister for medical education Dr V S Acharya and Jayaprakash Narayan of New Delhi will be guests at the valedictory function.

Over 2,000 students and 250 experts will take part in Sanjeevini, Dr Alva said.

Ayurvedic Medical College principal Dr K Lakshmish Upadhyaya and organizing secretary Subrahmanya Padyana were present at the news conference.
