Puttur, May 10: A boy walking by the roadside was killed after a speeding car knocked him down at Shantinagar-Mantoor near Savanoor here on Monday May 8.
The deceased boy has been identified as Sushanth (11), son of Subraya Acharya of Malavantige of Didupe in Beltangady taluk. He had come to his uncle's house at Savanoor on holidays.
On Monday evening he was walking beside the road near his uncle's house when a car driven by one Mahesh hit him. As a result Sushanth sustained serious injuries and was admitted to a private hospital here. He was later shifted to a hospital in Mangalore. But he succumbed to the injured late on the same evening.
His uncle Janardhan Acharya has filed a complaint with the Kadaba police in this regard.
