Mangalore, May 10:
The revised remuneration for evaluation work offered by the varsity has been accepted by the members of Association of Mangalore University College Teachers (AMUCT) at a meeting held at Canara College on Tuesday May 9 here.

Though they were unhappy that the remuneration is less than what they had demanded, they said that they had accepted the amount in the interest of the student community.

AMUCT president Hayavadan Upadya said that the Association had demanded Rs 375 and Rs 175 per day for local and outstation evaluators respectively. But the varsity has offered Rs 325 for outstation evaluators and Rs 175 per day for local evaluators, he said. Last year, the amount was Rs 250 and Rs 125 per day for outstation and local evaluators respectively.

The Association has decided not to accept the varsity's offer of Rs 150 per day as remuneration for tabulation work. It will stand by its demand to increase the amount to match the amount given for evaluation work, he said.
