Karkala, May 10: A quarry labourer was hacked to death by an auto rickshaw driver in a quarry at Nelligudde near here on Wednesday May 10 morning.
The murdered has been identified as Natraj (35). He hailed from Tamil Nadu but was working in the quarry owned by one K C Kamat at Nelligudde. He was murdered by Murthy, who too hails from Tamil Nadu.
Both Natraj and Murthy were involved in a verbal brawl on Wednesday morning. Murthy was demanding Natraj to pay him back Rs 2,000 which the latter had borrowed from him earlier. However, soon both of them were up in arms and Murthy hacked Natraj with a sickle.
As a result Natraj died on the spot. The Karkala police have registered a case in this regard.
