Udupi: Facebook case - BD alleges organized crime; uncensored posters create flutter

Udupi, Jan 11: The members of Bajrang Dal on Saturday January 11 alleged that an organized network targetting Hindus and particularly Hindu girls is operating in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts. The network indulges in kidnapping and harassment of Hindu girls for blackmail, they said, adding that the group goes by the name of 'Target Hindus, Target Hindu Girls'.

Addressing a press meet here to condemn the incident wherein a youth was arrested for uploading obscene photographs of a girl on Facebook, Bajrang Dal convener Sharan Pumpwell said the group indulges in trapping innocent girls of another community in the name of love, taking videos and photographs of them for blackmail and even converting them.

He also gave example of the recent Derakalakatte blackmail, rape and forced sex incident to stress his point. He also pointed out that 90 percent of the girls who go missing elope with boys of another community.

He further said that an organized crime network was behind the drug abuse among college students.

"The police must take these issues seriously and investigate each case thoroughly by forming separate teams. Those involved in these crimes must be brought to book and stringent action must be taken against the culprits without bowing to any political pressure," he said.

"Mohammed Yaseer from Udupi who was arrested for uploading obscene photos of a girl in Facebook should be charged with rape and blackmail," he demanded.

He also advised parents of college students in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts to warn their children about the increasing number of such crimes and urged them to be careful. "For the last 20 years Bajrang Dal has been striving to create awareness about the existence of sex mafia and love Jihad in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, but parents are not showing enough concern on these

issues. I urge parents to monitor their children's activities and girls to be careful about the boys they befriend. Mobile phones have been a cause for increasing number of crimes among college students, and it is important for parents to be more responsible in this regard," he said.

Posters of uncensored Facebook photos create flutter

The residents of Udupi, particularly students were shocked to see posters of uncensored Facebook photographs, allegedly uploaded by Mohammed Yaseer showing him with a girl in a compromising position, were seen all over the town. The poster also carried the name of the girl.

(Photo blurred by daijiworld)

Posters of these photos, with the girl's face clearly seen, were found pasted on the compound walls of Madhava Kripa College, MGM College, Diana talkies, Santhekatte, and other places.

Some of the students approached the Manipal police decrying the act of the miscreants, alleging that it was done to gain political mileage.

The police got into action and removed all the posters.

It is suspected that the posters were put up during the night. A smaller copy of the poster was also shown by Bajrang Dal's Sharan Pumpwell during the press meet. He condemned the miscreants' act.

lets concentrate at d base of dis issue . .
1). People if u scroll up n see d photos u can see photos where d girl herself has sent a few nude photos she has clicked at home . . so d question of being drugged is solved right here . . the guy can drug her while being in the company, but not when she is at her home . . .
2). Comes the question of uploading any fool would upload his own nude photos in his own account for he has got his own.family people.or his own. frnd circle.too
3). dis is just a communal plot.from a.community in a futile attempt to giv rise to communal violence and create.disturbance throughout the city
4). This bajrandal is just in a motive of pointing out the minorities. in the same Manipal der was a rape by the Bajrang dal activist . . at that time where was bajrang dal.to protest where were the orange flags . ????
5). This is jus a plot to get this into politics n this is getting stretched to b a political propaganda . .

Yes, you're right this is a communal plot, not by BD,but by the likes of Mohamed Yasser to create disturbances in the city. He trapped the girl and then clicked and posted those pictures which is clear to all.Your post seems to be fully exonerated the culprit and blaming other's who have only raised the issue. Why can't you first lecture to the likes of Mohammed Yasser before lecturing others who cannot be compared to that rogue?

1 Extra money to spend on girls
    2 Posh bikes
3 Above all a careless attitude as to what might happen to the girls' future
COUPLED WITH THIS A STRICT UPBRINGING AT HOME PREVENTS THE BOYS FROM OTHER COMMUNITIES TO DO SUCH THINGS..IT IS MORALS AND RESPECT TOWARDS THE OTHER GENDER DUDE..THAT IS WHAT TRUE INDIAN IS

No, dear, its a must and its the time to ban Facebook and social network sites. Learn from other countries who have banned it for social benefit and security of public or private matters. Its a platform where everything is opened up in public. The worst part is that your personal life is not personal anymore. The worst is that people misusing it to abuse, attack and humiliate other people.

Making awareness trough Giving Cultural education and building self respect is more effective and far better way than blaming particular communities and hate speeches. It is unfortunate that the students who should have been studying indulge in worldly pleasures. There degeneration of values resulting in disrespect for women. Abject materialism, craze for western culture, neglecting societal norms, disregard for family ties and self-centered individualistic outlook-all these are responsible for the present degeneration. It is high time we wake up. Let us treat a crime as crime and insist our set up not to interfere in the process of law. How to achieve this is a million dollar question. We are slaves of law so that we can be free.

Aristotle said, "Man is the best of the animals. But when separated from law and justice, he is the worst of all." In the olden days the words of elders would carry respect. The advice of teachers would be heard and valued. We have to resurrect the value system and family ties. Unbridled freedom leads to untold miseries. The elders in the society (in every community) must admonish their children not to commit crimes. Even moral offenses that lead to immorality over a period of time should be condemned.Dalai Lama said, if we can teach every child to sit and meditate every day, we can eradicate violence from this world. We have to give a pleasant atmosphere for the child to grow. We have models like Anna Hazare who should be emulated and models from the filmy world, who dance to the tunes of rich and are insensitive to the sufferings of Muzafernagar riot victims, should not become role models. There should be equality before law and equal treatment under law.

There have been plenty of crimes against women of serious nature in the district (including one in Manipal, where even a BD worker was involved). The list of these cases are long, from Mohan Kumar, to Manipal, to one case almost every other day. Did BD protest against them? No. Did Muslim organisations protest against them because the culprits were Hindus? Of course not. Simply because none of these crimes were inspired by religion. These are just crimes. It would be a different matter if an organisation deliberately indulged in these crimes in the name of religion/ caste etc, like we see in communal riots. it's time we learn to distinguish between individual crimes and collective crimes. It is also interesting that those like the Bajrang Dal who 'ively outrage', do not do the same when perpetrators belong to their own community (like Soujanya, Mohan Kumar, Manipal case, etc)

While the guy who uploaded the photos on FB certainly looks like a sick individual who deserves harsh punishment, where was the BD when a gang rape happened in the same Manipal, and the accused was a BD worker? What have the BD to say about the Soujanya case? What do they have to say about Mohan Kumar, the serial killer - even then, they said the victims were prey to 'Love Jihad' and kept unusually silent when it was realised Mohan Kumar who was the culprit? We are also well aware of acts against women by this organisation during so-called communal riots in the country. For BD and Sangh Parivar, these 'issues' are ive. They don't have a problem if the perpetrators were not from the minority, because it doesn't suit their agenda of religious discord. Their agenda is religion, and religion alone. Anything else is just a sham

One of the common trait among Indians irrespective of the community is they always try to blame others. Introspection is not our strong point. What this boy did was a crime and as per the law of the land he will be punished provided police seriously pursue the case. Having said that, why do not youngsters, including girls think of the consequences?? You know, every action, every choice you make has a price to pay. so when a girl willingly develops a physical relation with a boy and merrily poses for compromising photos, you are taking a big risk. Because in this internet era, most of the cases, these photos will come on the net. so later crying foul or getting the boy arrested not gonna bring the reputation back. Its a slow, painful death for your parents who have to support you as well as face the very judgmental Indian society.

Every time before elections these goons and their parties get money from BJP and their chelas and they think they can get extra votes by creating communal disharmony . What they have failed to realize that people and voters in particular are very intelligent and won't fall for their tricks which you can see from last assembly elections.

Clear cut example of Love Jihad. How a girl is trapped with the influence of drugs unknowingly to girl...& then misusing the situation...ending with blackmailing, etc. ... Perhaps these culprits are eligible for Gulf style of punishment... Girls & Womenfolk beware of such Gomukha Vagras in the society. Deralakatte & Manipal incidents are lessons for us.

In Udupi, Congis had given repeated advertisements in the last Assembly elections about Rave party in Malpe & questioned about ethics, culture & safety of women. Now, why are they silent on this incident which has occurred in their regime ?...

Who is your so called Sharan to create awareness, It is time the Police book this guy into Goonda Act. Irrespective of the communities and cities they come from. He should pay the price. Too many bad things are going on in our coastal area these days. No doubt some organised gangs are behind these things. Things are going from bad to worse. Its time for the girls and their parents to wakeup before its too late! Learn lessons from the news that you read everyday! Stay away from unnecessary relationships with other community boys! Otherwise be prepared to fall in a ditch with no escape!

These kind of incidents is happening all over India, but for each and every incident communal color is given only in the undivided DK district. The first two generations after independence were living peacefully, but some communal organizations are giving communal color for everything.

    Dear Mr.Haris,

Even we mangaloreans dont need communal violence, But do you think such acts like posting pictures in FB and posters outside the college using such propaganda is acceptable by any community. Just think and tell who is spreading hatred in the community. Where are all those so called buddhi jeevis now. I am not with any political party, but being a citizen of india, we all must strictly condemn this act.
