Dubai: Kids and adults display athletic skills at UAE Bunts sports meet

Dubai, Jan 11: UAE Bunts - youth wing organized a fun-filled sports day at Institute of Applied Technology, Al Qusais, here on Friday January 10 from 8 am to 8 pm. Despite several programmes scheduled in Dubai on Friday, a large number of sports enthusiastic form Bunts community partook in a fun-filled games throughout the day.
  
The youth wing organized the mega sports event in a grand manner where people from all the age groups from toddlers to senior citizens participated in various games like sack race, frog race, wheel and barrow, lemon and spoon, tug of war, lagori and serious track and field events and many more.

The registration started in the early morning and the participants were divided among 4 teams - red, yellow, blue and green. The opening ceremony was led by Karnataka Sangh – Abu Dhabi president Sarvotham Shetty. The sponsors and well wishers were present on the dais for the opening ceremony. National Anthems were sung. Oath was taken to keep up the dignity of sports.

The sports activities began at about 10 am. Various events were organized for both boys and girls under different age groups. Some traditional games were also played. Kabaddi and tug-of-war were the highlights of the day.

More than 300 people took part in the fun-filled sports event.  In all, there were 35 events in various categories.

The winners were awarded medals and certificates. The event ended with a raffle draw with winners walking away with attractive prizes.
