Mangalore: Hundreds participate in Yen Fitness Run

Mangalore, Jan 12: Hundreds of kids, youths and elderly filled the streets here on Sunday January 12 to take part in the 'Yen Fitness Run' organised by Yenepoya School that was flagged off at Pumpwell circle.

High school and college students were present in huge numbers and the mood was quite upbeat among the participants.

The 7 km run started from Pumpwell circle, covering Kankanady circle, Vas lane, Ambedkar circle, Karavali circle, Ujjodi, and Ekkur to Yenepoya School. A 4 km run was also held on the same route.

Deputy commissioner A B Ibrahim and wing commandar Sujith Kumar flagged off for both the 7 km and 4 km runs.

Yenepoya School principal Dr C K Manjunath gave mementos to Dr Murali Mohan and to wing commandar Sujith Kumar.

Dr Murali Mohan, NSS programme co-ordinator Nitte University gave a memento to deputy commissioner A B Ibrahim.

Volunteers were present all along the route and water station and refreshments were also provided to participants at intervals. Ambulance and medical team also followed the runners.

R Hitendra, police commissioner of Mangalore city and others were among the participants.
