Mangalore: Congress protest against Kalladka Bhat turns ugly as party workers fight

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Updated

Mangalore, Jan 13: A protest by Gurpur block Congress on Sunday January 12 demanding arrest of RSS leader Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat for his recent provocative speech turned chaotic after party members fought among themselves and almost resorted to blows.

It is said that former union minister and Congress leader Janardhan Poojary was addressing the protest, but instead of speaking on the issue Kalladka Bhat, he spoke on Aadhaar card and ration card, saying that Aadhar card was not required to get gas connection, and that he has spoken to the CM and to the DC about it.

He then got on to speak about houses for the shelterless poor, when some party workers in the gathering called out that the protest was against Kalladka Bhat and he should speak to the point. At this, Poojary replied that it was he who raised voice and demanded Bhat's arrest first, but it was not in his culture to speak like Bhat had done at Hindu Sangama.

But the party workers insisted that he speak only on Kalladka Bhat. Some of the party members reportedly asked him why K P Bhat was not arrested though Congress was in power.

They also shouted slogans against Poojary and asked why he could not get K P Bhat arrested instead of only talking in public. Some of the party members climbed the dais where Poojary was delivering his speech, which angered his supporters.

Soon, the party members got divided into two groups and heated exchange of words threatened to snowball into a full-fledged brawl.

Angered by the development, Poojary lashed out at the people who opposed him and said, "You are not Congress workers. You are from the SDPI." However, a Congress leader clarified to the media that only Congress party workers were present.

Though police security was deployed at the spot, the situation worsened and police had to resort to mild lathi charge, sources said.

MLA Mohiuddin Bava, Ivan D'Souza and others were present at the protest.

Why do you make fun of yourselves. Before gathering people try to get their opinions and thoughts. Dont just gather them and start speaking. Dear Congress, You are the ruling party both in the state as well as on top. So if you want to take any actions against anybody , just go ahead, what are you waiting for ??? And whom are you protesting against...?
Or is it the case that you yourself are not sure about Mr.Bhat's guilt..? Please spend some time among ur own team members before coming in front of people and creating such nonsense.

I don't understand what's wrong with Indian constitution?? how they can file counter caainstseag Mr. Usman, who filed case against Bhatt?. Now the time to take self decision. If our police and politics failed arrest him, that means administration completely captured by RSS. So its better to bring a third party in Place....either SDPI or AAP. guyz think before you vote.

"Congress" you are finished, in next Mangalore (now called Dakishna Kannada Lok Sabha seat),you are not going to win, we had voted you in yr 2013 Karnataka assembly election, this time we are going to vote for AAP (Aam admi Party), you are a disgrace to our beautiful city, Mr. Poojary stop this nataka company act, no one believes you, you are just a shadow of your past, time for you to retire and play with grandchildren.
You have your Congress govt in the state, simple solution, if you have proof and enough witness and material arrest Dr. Prabhakar Kalladka Bhat and hand over his case to CBI, if not just shut up and leave the coastal Karnataka people to live in peace.
    Jai Hind, Jai Karnataka.

The cause of this disturbance is Mr.J Poojary itself.

Of late action of Mr. Poojary shows that he is building good rapport with Mr. K Bhat & their associates.

When the protests is against Mr. K Bhat, what is wrong with Mr. Poojary to speak against him. If not, he should not have come in the first place for this protest.

He has lost 3 MP election and still power hungry. As the congress party, those who have lost the last 2 elections, they cannot contest and Mr. Poojary want to contest at any cost. We would not be surprised, if he has not given a Congress ticket, he may desert congress.

..this is what happens when you create a vote bank & support a political party in particular..either you are taken on a ride by parties or you will force (as per your convenient) political parties to dance on your tune..when demands not met, you will heart broken..come out of political clouches, use vote as a weapon as normally so called majorities do..why Congress loss & BJP win previous election and how the BJP lose almost all seats in the last elections? Do you think so called minorities ever voted for BJP..Never, its so called majorities who voted wisely, hence BJP learned its lesson..But you never learned to teach Congress a lesson..they know when church,Mosque attacked, they wil get maximum benefit..who knows who carries these attacks!!..Regarding Bhat, no need political pressure..there are so many lawyers from the community, if there is full proof evidence why can't they file cases!!

A perfect example of what happens when stupid people assemble to discuss another set of stupid people.
It still begs a question....why has the police complaint not filed still and why this discussion still?
Is it such a complicated procedure?
All you need to do is go into the police station and the constable will do the rest.
It clearly shows that either Congress is afraid of getting dragged into some mess or they want it to escalate further before they could step in to gain mileage.

Dont fight on the road and cause problem for the common man. Arrest is only a symbolic act & not punitively. He will come out on bail as all alleged criminals do.
Let the Law take its own course in a Court of Law, which will decide whether he is innocent or guilty & quantum of punishment.
All these things by both political parties is nothing but to garner votes in the next election.
People have no time to spare on these gimmicks, as they have to earn their daily bread, which politicians have no headache about.

This shows how Congis use every issue for their personal agenda. This fight was actually for Mangalore Loksabha ticket between 2 (or more?) groups

Congress government should act decisively and arrest all the anti-social elements. We can't let these anti-social elements go scot-free every time for political reasons.

    Congress party's asliyath samne aya!
    Kya bolthi thu .. thum?

We read so many comments about JP's media reports and most of them had already commented that he only can talk but cannot deliver. This has been proven today by his own party.
