Bangalore, May 11: It is the Garden City of the past, perhaps. Gone are the days of cool weather and conducive weather.

After days of scorching heat, people of the city have been waiting for showers. Temperature levels touched 35 to 37 degree Celsius during the past few days.

With showers gracing some parts of the city on Tuesday and Wednesday, the atmosphere has cooled down considerably.

A couple of trees have collapsed as a result of heavy winds. Light showers continued to cool the city. Many motorists and residents were taken by surprise.

Citizens are looking forward to further showers so that the cool effect would last longer. If it does not continue to rain, they know very well, the humid and sultry nature of summer is likely to get worse.

Rain, rain, welcome again - this could be the refrain everyone would like to sing now.
