Poojary, J P certain to get Congress ticket from Mangalore, Udupi

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore/Udupi

Mangalore / Udupi, Jan 14: Despite reports of Harsha Moily's attempt to get ticket from Mangalore Lok Sabha seat and Rahul Gandhi's strict guidelines of age and past track records, B Janardhan Poojary, senior Congress leader, at 76, is all set to get one more chance to prove his political strength in Mangalore. Sources close to Congress party have revealed that only Janardhan Poojary's name was recommended for Mangalore seat. Hence, if no major lobbying is done by others, Poojary is all set to get the ticket from here.

Similarly, from Udupi-Chikmaglur constituency, J P Hegde who got less than two years to serve as MP after his tremendous victory against Sunil Kumar of BJP in the 2012 bypoll, has emerged as the only recommendation from Udupi constituency.

The recent Congress wave in the twin districts helped Congress candidates bag their respective seats, but challenge could be tougher this time as all political parties have swung into aggressive canvassing mode for LS election. In addition, there is also the AAP factor which cannot be ruled out easily.

From 11 constituencies in Karnataka, only one candidate's name has been finalised, unless Rahul Gandhi exercises his 'veto' power all these 11 candidates are expected to get Congress tickets for the upcoming LS polls:

Mangalore: Janardhan Poojary
Udupi - Chikmaglur - J P Hegde
Chikkaballapur : M Veerappa Moily
Gulbarga : Mallikarjuna Kharge
Bidar : Dharam Singh
Mysore : H Vishwanath
Chamarajnagar : Druvnarayan
Mandya : Ramya
Bangalore Rural : D K Suresh
Kolar : H Muniappa
Bellary : N Y Hanumanthappa

Mr.K.A. D'Silva,Dubai Competent people always serve their mother land. They do not leave the country to work for strangers. What type of job they are doing, they only know leaving behind their family at native place. See the case of Mr J.R. Lobo, he could have gone to Dubai and made money, but he stayed behind and worked for the people and his service is recognized by the public, but you are counting only reals for what?. You know some of those who work Dubai is leaving behind their family when they come down their family with other person. Unless You able to take the family do not got to Dubai.

    Dear Adv. Sir,

Do you know how difficult it is to work abroad? do you think its easy to leave behind family and work abroad? Don't the remittances from and NRI contributes the economy & serve the country? If all the NRI has to return back do you think all will get the Job back home?? will it not be hard on the all ready unemployed people to find job amid these returns? Recent days back KSA was deporting the illegal or streamline the visa status do you know what impact it might have had on Indians on employment & remittances from these Indians if all had to return? It is not correct to say that the NRI's do not want to serve country therefore they go abroad. May be its for a better future, crunch economic situation at home or maybe they were unable to find a job back home.

What did veerappa Moily have done while he was chief minister of Karnataka..He've done 0 work...Look at SM Krishna how did he develop Banglore...being a manglorean Mr.Moily haven't done anything instead he took a advantage of making money.
Just for your knowledge Mr.Poojari is a straight forward person,I accept that he doesn't know to give a proper speech that is the only problem he had got...but in other sense is a gentleman...congress is not the right party for him to stay, coz he is a honorable & hard working person.because of congress party he is getting weaker day by day.

    Dear Satish,
With due regards to your experience, and yes, it seems you are much experienced than me, I'm 1985 born out person. I'm a professional company secretary working for big 4 firm.
Let me tell you, getting success is not a big thing but maintaining success and handling it consistently over a period of time is a matter of importance.
This poojary has backstabbed many resource persons for his own benefit. He might have done a few good things but most of his deeds are truly worth ashamable!!!
He has backstabbed K.K Shetty, Veerappa Moily and many other Congress people whom I dont wana mention over here.
This poojary always considers his personal motives first and that's not the qualities of a clean leader and let me tell you he still does all these cheap politics.
This is the exact reason for which he is losing for many many years.
So when he speak about his loan mela, work towards weaker section etc, all these is expected from him and that is the reason why he has been chosed by people. Later on people of Mangalore realized his manipulative cheap deeds and that is why people are just kicking him out on every elections.
First let him become a good person and later try to reform the society.

    Dear Mr. Shravan Shetty,

Thank you for giving information about you. You are 2 years older than my son and I can understand the young minds and also spontaneous comments. I wish you good luck and success in your profession as well as life. You youngsters are the future of this country and hence you have to be very balanced in your decisions as well as writings.

We are from the old school and hence it becomes little difficult for us to make abusive comments. Anyhow, you will also change with time. You have some opinion about Mr. Poojary and I am not here to change it. But only my request is not to make abusive comments. He is a senior leader who gave up his successful law profession for serving the people.

I agree with you that Mr. Poojary has political differences with Mr. Moily but that does not take away his valuable contribution to the welfare of the people. That is politics. For your information Mr. Moily was a minister in State Government even before Poojary joined Congress. But that is the history now. But I don’t remember his problems with Mr. K. K. Shetty except that he was replaced.

We have a different opinion about Mr. Poojary. But I can only say let the best politician represent Mangalore and take our voice to Parliament.

    Dear Mr. Shravan Shetty,

It is natural that each of us has own point of view based on the ideology we follow. I do not know which age group you belong, but I consider that your strong views about Mr. Poojary may be based on your observation for a certain period of time.

I know Mr. Poojary since the first election he has fought in the year 1977. He was not the member of Congress when he got the ticket for the first time and many within the congress opposed his candidature.

Mr. Poojary’s remarkable work and concern for the poor made him the darling of the people from Mangalore. He won successive elections and did the good work to help the people mainly the weaker sections. Loan Mela helped many to have self-employment. He remained simple and accessible to people. He remained a leader of common people, especially weaker sections without even a black spot in his political career. It is difficult to find such a clean politician today.

For your kind information, I am coming from a political family and as a child, had the opportunity to meet earlier MPs, Mr.Shankar Alva, Mr. Poonacha and Mr. K.K Shetty as well. Mr. K. K. shetty was short tempered, but all of them were good politicians. Shankar Alva went on to become a Cooperative minister in the State Government later.

This time it is the duty of every mangalorean to send a person with a clean image and strong voice to Parliament. I am hopeful that mangaloreans will succeed in that.

We need to have age criteria ,qualification criteria for all candidates contesting elections. 6) Concerning to other riots which you may specify are of internal which were small & were contained immediately.

Mr. Modi congratulated and awarded communal provokers of Muzaffarnagar in his UP Rally.
GIVE ME ONE COMMENT WHEREIN THE COMMENTATORS HAVE WRITTEN IN DAIJIWORLD CONGRESS IS THE SAVIOR OF CERTAIN COMMUNITIES. In fact, Congress is giving more help to Hindus and when Hindus get, there is no big mouth from bjp and its associates. When the minority community gets help there is a trumpet sound from the communal BJP.

Atal behari Vajpayee went to asses atrocities against Christians in Gujarat and d there were atrocities committed against Christians. Came to Delhi, succumbed to CHADDI RSS pressure and changed his statement which appeared in big letterS in the newspapers “NO ATTROCITIES WERE COMMITTED AGAINST CHRISTIANS”

    Dear Mr. Sudhakar, Kallyanpur,

Once again Still, you have no guts to agree BJP is against humans of other religions and a biggest communal and corrupt. But partially agreeing to say alllllll.

Concerning to Sikh riots I have explained in my previous news blog in daiiworld. Commentators are not reading my comments & wanting to jump immediately to question.

I NEVER SAID ANYWHERE IN MY COMMENT CONGRESS IS A SAINT – YOUR UNNECESSARY STATEMENT. I HOPE THERE ARE MANY COMMENTATORS IN THE FACE BOOK AND TWITTER CONSIDERING MODI THE MURDERER, CORRUPT AND CRIMINAL AS PURE AND SPOTLESS.

    1) First of all you have missed Massacres against Christians in Orissa & atrocities against Christians in Gujarat.

    2) Once again, you have no say about Church attacks in Karnataka by the bjp & its associates against a peaceful living small minority of Christians of the south kanara district. If you have full knowledge of the above how did you miss point no. 1 & 2 against Christians by the bjp & its associates.

    3) Sikh riots & Kashmir riots cannot be compared to Gujarat riots of 2002 and other few small riots where were internal feuds and no outside nation interfered.

    4) Sikhs were brainwashed by the Pakistan to divide India into Khalistan in revenge to separation of Bangladesh. The Khalistan subject & Kashmir subject are coming under sovereignty & integrity question of the nation. Sovereignty & integrity of the nation can never be compromised unless both the countries agree otherwise there is bloodshed & the history is evidence to this effect. Example India Pakistan separation – Bloodshed and death of innocent people. There was no bloodshed in Chek and Slovakia because both the countries agreed to separate. If not agreeing for separation by both the countries there is blood shed like happened for Sikh riots. Continued….

He never allowed the govt vehicle provided to him for his personal work, nor he allowed his wife and children to enjoy the facility.

Sri Janardhana Poojary is living example, how the politician should be. Even with his long political career, his image is not dented. He is non-Corrupt, simple living and messiah of weak and downtrodden.

He must have lost 4 times, but that does not take away the quality within him. We have seen voiceless MPs from Mangalore for quite many years now and they are forgotten. Mr. Poojary has maintained his contact with people even without power and that is why this constituency still remembers and talks about Mr. Poojary. He was once the voice of Mangalore in Parliament and that voice stopped the day he ceased to be an MP. We have one more chance to take our voice to Parliament and should not miss it.

Communal forces are making every effort to ignite communal tension for their political benefit and we should all unite to defeat these forces. People, especially Hindus should understand that Sangh Parivar is using Hindus as vote bank and done nothing for the community. They are always sided with powerful and misused poor Hindus for their political agenda. Let us give a hand to Mr Poojary and he will be always there with the weak and poor people when they need him.

I do admire Mr. Janardhana Poojary and Mr. Ramanatha Rai and some other Congress leaders because they are still in congress even if in the twin districts congress has lost elections for some years but they are still loyal to congress.

Concerning to Mr. Janardhana Poojary, I oppose M.P., Ticket to Mr. Janna because he has lost elections previously more than 1-3 times (1-3 times is as per my calculations).

Supposedly the M.P., ticket is ultimately given to Mr. Janna I shall vote for him.

The daijiworld news says Janardhana Poojary is hopeful of M.P., Ticket and only one name is recommended and hopeful of getting the ticket. We have to bring in some other candidate.

MR. J. R. LOBO ALSO WILL BE A CAPABLE LEADER IN MANGALORE WHO WORKS FOR ALL IRRESPECTIVE OF CASTE AND RELIGION AND ELIGIBLE FOR M.P., TICKET FROM MANGALORE.

Sudhakar..do you know what you are asking? BJP tried their level best to come to power by starting Ram Mandir issue. Advani started Rath Yathra and from there communal disharmony started. So, BJP is mainly responsible for communal disharmony in the society. In India, Congress and BJP as national parties should be ashamed of themselves as both these parties are communal and corrupt. They can go to any extent to get power. So, don't ever trust these parties and don't act like a spokesperson for either BJP or Congress.

Basically Poojary is a good guy (of late)though talks too much.It is a fact that though he was a MP earlier time has not contributed significantly to the region.Even earlier BJP MP Dhanjaykumar has too not contribute anything to Mangalore.Present MP Nalin Kumar is well known for no contribution to the constituency.Nalin could able to garner votes only by provocative speeches as he has good organizing ability.Biggest disadvantage about Nalin is he the less educated members in the LS and hence can not speach or cant take up issues with the departments.People do not think all these matters while casting votes.Today Mangalore is because of previous three times MP late Ulla Srinivas Mallya,Though he was an undergraduate could do enormously to the erstwhile undivided DK dist.No leaders from DK would like to emulate late Mallya sir.We have totally forgotten Sri George Fernandes who though was not elected to LS from this region gifted Konkan Railway to th coastal region out of sheer love for his home dist.
Mallya or George Fernandes were with the people as their voice in LS.
People in Mangalore should vote this time decisively even if they want to reject candidates.Mangalore region does not require a MP if we get present day MP once again.

Please see things above religion, caste and creed, we live in the 21st century not in 1600s. BJP and Congress have both divided us based on these things, Hindus support BJP and Muslims and others support congress, the only reason to this being that we want to live in a safe atmosphere. We forget that communal fights never took place till until 1947, when our own politicians divided us based on religion caste and creed. Put our country first, We got independence from the British but we are still slaves of people who divide us on religion and caste. Let's fight for a better India. We are the largest democracy.

We are branded as unity in diversity, the real story is people are thirsty for the blood of others based on religion. We fight against each other based on religion, the politicians take advantage of this and loot and rape our country and resources. Trust me on me saying, if AAP becomes the single largest party, BJP and Congress will not wait to join hands with each other. Because people in the BJP and Congress are just greedy for power. Throw these goons out, have faith in AAP, things will change, as a famous saying goes "Rome Wasn't built in a day". Join together as Indians and Fight for a better India.

Most people here are blindly supporting BJP, just because of their poster boy Modi but they forgot in most areas Congress and Bjp politicians worked together and took turns to loot India badly. BJP failed to build Ram temple in Ayodhya, BJP also failed to teach a lesson to Pakistan after Kargil.

I sympathized BJP for its stand since the 90's, but by 2004 felt that they let us down. They were 'all talk and no action'. However, I adored A.B Vajapayee who was a gem.

Congress in the meanwhile was busy appeasing certain sections of the society and neglected the welfare of other communities. They were busy either looting or worshipping the "G family" or doing NOTHING AT ALL while in power.

Hence, most broad minded people today prefer AAP as it offers a ray of hope to all of us. JAI HO!!

Win or defeat doesn't matter. What matters the most is persons Attitude, ability & eager to serve the society. Janardhan Poojary is always a winner, who built a temple for Hindus like a ''True Hindu''. He is the real winner, Bolo Janardhan Poojariki ''JAI''....

    Rahul,
Come out of your dreams!!! What attitude, ability of Poojary you're talking about? The man who speaks without sense and the one who is a all time loser..., please have some mindful thoughts before commenting!!! What do you mean by saying one who has built a temple??? As if he is the only person who has built the temple in Mangalore????
Anyways, you will realize once the 2014 Loksabha results are out..!!!

Both will win, specially Mr. Hegde, who is popular along Coastal Canara. However, they will be in the opposition benches in the Lok-Sabha and next parliament may not complete the full term.

You are so much of confident that both incidents you have mentioned are tailer made by BJP to get LS votes ?
Please don't play with people's life for votes. Human life is very precious irrespective of caste, creed, religion and should be above poli-tricks.

The Aam Aadmi party has emerged strongly as a better alternative to BJP and Conh and this is a historic moment in politics for India. A party whose founders have a strong idea towards creating a participatory democracy and working along with the people for the development of our nation is great.

All leading political parties only publish a brief pamphlet for electioneering purpose, but its forgotten right after the elections.

This time most Mangaloreans are looking out for a change as they are fed up with BJP and Cong.

Jeevan all this in Mangalore because we have an uneducated MP Mr Kateel who hardly visited parliament after his election.Till date he has never spoken, even once in our parliament.Total waste body. After Mr Poojary gets elected this time all the issues raised by you will be sorted out. Kateel is fit only to inaugurate Kambla and noting else. So also we have a Chaiwala as PM candidate from BJP. When our country has this type of leaders such problems are bound to arise.

    Hello Jeevan,

Don't act as if you don't know about Niddodi project. It was approved by the great MUTE Nalin Kumar Kateel and it was BJP tenure in the state that time (state govt had the right to oppose). And about Manipal Gang rape people know to which sanga parivaara the accused was.

How do you blame Congress for manipal rape or the Facebook Incident , ? All the culprits are arrested non of them have been let go...Judicial proceedings take time that doesn't get effected whether congress is in power or the BJP..My genuine question is why dint the Bajrangdal OR ABVP Protest on such a large scale during the Manipal Rape case? Was it because the culprits were Hindus? :O Are they trying to politicize the Facebook Incident because a Muslim guy was involved in it? And the fault is certainly the guys, but the girl too is surely at fault to have consented to such photos and even have sent such photos to the guy..Surely the guy is more at fault but the girl too is not innocent.... Corruption? Hahaha, you must be joking... What corruption is the BJP talking about? A party the INVITED AND WELCOME YEDDURAPPAAA !1

AAP will give a big blow to BJP as KJP did in the last assembly election.
Janardhana Poojary and Jyaprakash Hegde will win from Mangalore and Udupi constituencies respectively.
Hence D.V.Sadananda Gowda,Shobha Karandlaje or C.T.Ravi has no chance from Udupi.
AAP will help Congress to win more than 20 seats in Karnataka.
