Puttur, May 12: Some houses in the Janata colony in Golitottu in the taluk were severely damaged in the rainstorm that hit the area around 4-30 pm on Thursday, May 11.

Houses belonging to Bifatima, Netravati, Jamila and Nafisa are said to have been damaged with tiles having blown away.

The loss is estimated at Rs 60,000. The rainstorm hit when no one was present at home and no report of injury has been received. Taluk panchayat member Sarvottam Gowda visited the spot and assured of relief from the panchayat funds.
