Puttur, Jan 15: The locals here caught hold of two drug peddlers red-handed on Tuesday January 14 and seized 20 packets of ganja from them. It is said that the locals already had suspicions of drug peddlers being active in the area, and were waiting for an opportunity to nab them.

Nikhil from Mukrampady and Taranath from Mareel were caught with 20 packets of ganja.

A local youth who suspected the duo of peddling drugs called them to the spot. When they came as directed, the youth along with other locals caught Nikhil and Taranath and informed the police.

Though police were busy providing security on Eid Milad, they came to the spot and took the accused into custody.

Taranath had been arrested for peddling ganja on earlier occasions too but was released on bail. Nikhil had joined him recently.

Locals Kalandar, Hakeem and others were involved in trapping and nabbing the accused.

Puttur town police are investigating further.

Swat, I feel you have difficulty in reading/understanding Kannada . My comment was clearly about the 3rd religion which is so called Criminals... Whatever the surname of criminals , whichever caste they belong .. if we smart enough we must not support criminals.. So me too .. Deralakatte issue i never supported the act of criminals.. So hope now you understand , i have never supported or justified deralakatte issue. Lets all stand against those criminal evils and keep them away from our society.

Thank God it did not get communal Colour as it is a genuine case of drug peddling. I hope now other Moral Police also do the same good work of getting rid of evils afflicting our society instead of just keeping an eye on girls & boys talking to each other.
KINGPIN OF THIS DRUG RACKET SHOULD ALSO BE TRACED. THESE TWO ARE JUST LAST LINK IN THE LONG CHAIN.

Who was the guarantor for Taranath, who bailed him out, now put both of them in forever. What about Nikhil who joined him recently, if Taranath was in jail, then Nikhil would not have joined him. So no more bail, give them jail puri.
