Mangalore, May 13: A protest against the government’s privatization policy will be held in front of the deputy commissioner’s office here, between May 15 and 20, by the KSRTC Mazdoor Sangha, supported by the KSRTC Employees Samyuktha Horata Samithi and the Dalit Sangharsha Samithi (Ambedkar faction). This was announced by P Keshav, honorary president of the Samithi, at a press meet here on Friday May 12.
He urged the government to safeguard the interest of the KSRTC, by distancing from political pressures.
He alleged that the district administration had not taken any action against private buses plying illegally in the region.
Since the government has already released funds, the renovation of the KSRTC bus stand at Bijai should be commenced immediately, he said.
