Indian consul general in Dubai promises better services

Dubai, Jan 17 (IANS): Anurag Bhushan, the new consul general of India in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has promised to ensure better and faster services for the Indian community and make the consulate more approachable for its nationals.

Bhushan, while attending a welcome dinner hosted by the India Club here Wednesday, said he admired the “resourcefulness and never-say-die spirit” of the Indian community in Dubai, Khaleej Times reported Friday.

Bhushan appreciated the efforts made by the community to serve their motherland as well as their second home.

“There are many things that we need to learn from the people here, especially their far-sightedness,” he said.

The consul general said the welfare of the community would be of prime importance for him and he would strive to improve the services provided by the mission and the agencies.

The UAE is home to around two million expatriate Indians.
