Canada: Meena, Vishwas Rebimbus to perform at Kala Saanz Wilfy Nite

Canada, Jan 17: It was almost a decade ago when history was created in Canada by hosting, for the first time ever, a performance by the legendary singer Konkan Kogull Wilfy Rebimbus and his troupe under the banner of Max Mendes group, later formalised as Canara World Foundation (CWF). The Konkani art and culture lovers of Canada witnessed this historical, and unforgettable moment when the undisputed champion of Konkani culture and music and the most coveted Konkani singer of our time performed with his troupe.

Canara World Foundation is the only organization that has consistently brought overseas Mangalorean artistes to perform on the North American soil and is the pioneer in promoting Konkani culture and music in Canada.

Reminiscing this historical moment, CWF has announced its decennial celebration by hosting yet again Wilfy Nite at Canara Kala Saanz 2014.  This decennial celebration will be celebrated with pomp and splendor with a performance by the Rebimbus family, Joswin Pinto and troupe.

Meena Rebimbus, wife of the legendary late singer and son Vishwas Rebimbus, continuing Wilfy's legacy, have already confirmed thier participation along with Joswin Pinto (Jovi) during the Wilfy Nite in Canada. Wilfy's daughter Veena Rebimbus currently residing in Doha may also participate in the event.

Konkani music lovers and fans of Wilfy Rebimbus will be entertained with nostalgic songs composed by the all time music icon and his family members. The day also promises to be entertaining with hilarious jokes, short skits and authentic Mangalorean cuisine.

Canara World Foundation is truly indebted to the Rebimbus family for accepting the invitation to perform and join in this celebration.

The event will be held on Saturday, April 26 at Port Credit School Auditorium, Mississauga from 1 pm. Tickets are priced VIP $30, Adult $20 and children below 12 years $10.
