Mangalore: Prateeksha of Mulky wins national-level Karate championship

Mangalore, Jan 18: Prateeksha Nithyananda, a student of Shri Narayana Guru Educational Institute has done her hometown Mulky proud by winning the grand champion's trophy in the blackbelt category at a national-level Karate championship.

The all-India Women’s Karate Championship was held at Chikmagalur recently.

She also won the first place in Kata and Kumite competitions and bagged a special prize for Karnataka.

Prateeksha Nithyananda is perusing her second PUC in Narayana Guru Pre-University, Mulky. She has been trained by Udupi Lakshmi Narayana Acharya and Umesh Bangera at Hejamadi Karate class.

Prateeksha is the proud daughter of Nithyananda, who is into transport business, and Rajeshwari, a teacher by profession.
