Mangalore, May 14 [IST 11.30 am]: Eminent poet from Goa Pobre Fernandes enthused the Konkani poets and poetesses gathered at the Konkani poets’ meet held in the Bishop’s House hall here on Sunday May 14.

At the half-day Konkani poets' meet 'Kavisandhi', jointly organized by the Central Sahitya Akademi and Raknno Konkani weekly, Porbe presented his a few of his best thematic poems and also poems for children. Porbe also sang two poems bringing delight to the audience. An interaction with the poet was also organized.


Earlier, Central Sahitya Academy Parishad president Paul Moros inaugurated the ‘Kavisandhi.’ Rakkno editor Fr Eric Crasta, editor designate Fr Francis Crasta and Academi programme officer and renowned Urdu writer Dr Kurshid Alam were present on the dais.



At the 'Kavigosti' which followed the ‘Kavisandhi’ well-known poets and poetesses from the undivided Dakshina Kannada district participated. Dr Mohan Pai, Indira Jodumatt, Titus Noronha, Wilfred Lobo Padil, Lloyd Rego Taccode, Wilson Kateel, Wilfy Rebimbus, Avina Miyar and Kalarani Kulshekar recited their poems.
