Mangalore : Police foil 'pub attack' kind of incident at Pumpwell

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, Jan 19: Mangalore police reportedly foiled a 'pub attack' kind of incident on Saturday, January 18 at Pumpwell.

City's Hi Bar Lounge and Grill was reportedly hosting a party organised by a youth of a certain community, but Bajrang Dal members received information that Hindu girls were participating in the party. The BD members informed the police control room and requested them to stop the DJ party immediately, adding that if police failed to take action, they would take matters into their own hands and stop the party forcefully.

Kadri police immediately swung into the action, and stopped the party. More than 50 boys and girls who pariticipated in the party were evacuated from the backdoor to avoid any untoward incident.

A youth from Kannur had organised the party with Rs 200 as entry fee for singles and Rs 300 for couples. It is said that more number of young girls and boys were expected to participate in the party during the evening hours.

Though there were some tense moments, police successfully sent the youth out of the pub at around 5.30 pm.

At the same time, Bajarang Dal has submitted a memorandum to police to stop all DJ parties in the city by 11.30 pm, and also to take action against illegal pubs.

Again a very rigorous article… I don’t know why every society thinks of taking its revenge on women? I would want to know, if these guys (Politicians) can go to pubs and can have call-girls, then why I as a common man, an Indian citizen not go to pubs and hang out with my friends. And who are these hooligan and uniformed gundas. What is the Police force doing?

Firstly, I must admit that i am against a govt that supports such attack by hooligans. But am surprised on the move of Kadri Police. How on earth can they dance to the tunes and threats of BD? we have 4 ministers from DK why the hell they cannot take action against the police for evacuating the people instead of facing the BD and arresting them for an attack.

You gave one more reason for BD to rejoice.

It is indeed a shame that whole country is at the mercy of thugs. There is no individual freedom. First from birth, they brainwash you to religion and then they give you a caste and later a language is forced upon you. The society wants you to conform to their rule rather than you following what is right by your own innate wisdom. They want us to believe in unnatural things. Why Indians treat human beings like conditioned animals. Even Daiji World does not contain any intellectual or philosophical writings. If there is a God he would take care of India, which is one of the poorest and illiterate counties with the worst health, hygiene and fetal and maternal mortality.

Due to Global financial crises and Indian struggling economy the business all over India is bad. To make the situation worst these Sangh Parivar goons scared the investors in this region and all the businesses are suffering. If the police and judiciary will not act seriously with these hooligans who take the law into their own hands the economy of this region will go for dogs and the GenNext will suffer.
The people losing confidence in doing business in this region is something like this... when there is a loss of confidence in the business and the financial assets, investors around the region sell them at the same time, which results in a financial crisis. Financial institutions that own these assets may not have enough money to cover them. This causes financial institutions not to lend to people, because they have no liquidity. Without credit available in an economy from financial institutions, an economy contracts and later collapses. This is how a financial crisis translates into an economic contraction.
Mangalore is already in the national and international news for the wrong reason and if such incidents are not checked the development of this region will collapse.

Where are the good, fun loving, celebrating people. all should have come together and stood around the hotel and told the young ones to have a decent celebration. the moment the young get together the BDs think there is immorality in the air. its in their lusty hearts and dirty minds. shame on the police they are frightened to these rouges. the young must file a complaint against police taking away their fundamental right. i am surprised organizations so called for justice, human rights blabla has crossed their arms and watching. their must be a silent protest by all the college students from D.K and ABVP must lead if they care for human right. At the first instance, the Bar as well as the organizers should have taken prior permission from concerned Authorities (including police protection).

In this incident there is no question of the party was going beyond cut off time, but certain community people are involved in the party.

It looks our police are controlled by moral police else, they would have told BD’s to mind their own business.

My question to the BD’s, whether they would have taken similar action if all the participants were from one community? Do they have right to sneak into others privacy and personal freedom? Tough days/life a ahead.

I want to tell all BD leaders and members 'BE AN EXAMPLE IN THE SOCIETY" and it should start from your own HOME.
BD or any outfits have no right to take the law and order into their hands. This will create divisions in the society.
If BD is that much interested in stopping DJ and parties, then let it start from its HOME... Stop watching Dish HD programs and serve for Community services.

Communal goons are arranging such parties in their own place , they drink , they use girls, etc. but that is their standard , they are illiterate. They are paid to watch and act as a moral policing in Mangalore because their leaders wants such incidents to flare communal tense in the city to turn the subject for their vote bank.
I do not agree to hold any such party in Mangaore at least for a near future till the mindset of our Mangaloreans to mach Mumbai, Bangalore or Goa citizens.

I agree that all parties should conclude at a certain time, if its 11:30pm so be it, as it causes disturbance to the people who stay around the premises. However, having said this, should not the Real Estate people also ensure that they DO NOT undertake any construction activities after say 11:30pm, as this also is a nuisance and disturbs the sleep and peace of the neighbors. What say??

Most of the pubs and bars in mangalore/udupi/mumbai etc. are owned by a particular community. So why is BD not targeting these owners, for letting girls come into their pubs? Why attack customers who are willing to pay for a service? Its like BD trying to target beefeaters instead of beef suppliers...hehe

It is high time that in Mangalore, the pubs and bars take self initiation in refraining from serving liquor to minors. Whenever I visit some well known hangouts like the ones on the top floors of Empire Mall, City Centre Mall and the one in story subject, i found boys and girls in school/pre college uniforms drinking and SMOKING.
For folks who suggest that we should be broad minded like westerners: In US no outlets serve liquor to anyone below 18. In the campus of the University of Indiana, you will have to watch your classmate sipping a beer in a pub just because he is 4-5 months older than you and has crossed 18. That is how the law is implemented in the west.

I really think the organisations like Bajarangdal, to some extent protect the moral values in our society.

If the BD wants to create a good culture, then this is may not be a proper step. They must first of stop liquor, close bars and pubs and create awareness. But they will not do this. Most of these liquor industries, stores, bars and pubs owned by the majority community. It is obvious they will not face them head on. Most of these places do pay haftha to BD etc and when they fail, they get into the attack. BD in the name of culture can only earn the ire of people and not respect. If they are so interested to save culture, then first act like cultured.

I think, organizers of this particular party and the owner of the Bar should have taken a strong stand and asked the police to protect from any outside interference as the party was taking place within the stipulated time limit. Only to be checked was if the bar & lounge have permission to hold such party at their premises.
Why police should give in to BD demands? Are they permitted by the Government for such policing?
They may even go to wedding parties where there will be mixed crowd and demand to stop the wedding!!!? And the police will give in to that?
This is becoming too much and Government\Home minister must take immediate measures to stop this interference from such organizations from threatening police that they would take the law in their own hands.

Police should be claimed for the loss incurred to the party organizers and the Pub.

Spineless police force. I think still it is manned by those BJP appointed staff.

The money position is getting tighter and tighter and their demand for payment from such pub\restaurants where they can threaten is slowly increasing, if their demands are not met.

The problem with these jobless, useless goons is that, they cannot afford these parties. Sir, that responsibility lies with girls, boys and their parents. Not with third parties. If parents do not take pain to explain to their kids about dangers and consequences of young age love, then they cant blame others for it. Treat teenage kids with respect and love, but make them understand that, kids have to be accountable for their choices and results.
