Udupi, Jan 20: The protest at Shirva over alleged molestation of a minor girl by a 56-year-old man took an undesirable turn when a group reportedly assualted two bus employees for operating their bus despite the bandh on Monday January 20.

It is said that Mohammed Asim (34), the conductor of the bus and driver Mohammed Hanif (34) of Belapu were driving their bus at Padubelle when a group stopped the bus.

The group also allegedly threatened the duo and assaulted them for not supporting the bandh.

Asim and Hanif were then made to drive the bus to Shankarapura, with the members of the group leading as well as following the bus on their bikes. At Shankarapura the Asim and Hanif were again allegedly assaulted after which they proceeded to Shirva in the same manner.

When they reached Shirva, Asim and Hanif saw an opportunity to escape and ran towards Shirva mosque for refuge. The people who were chasing them as well the locals gathered and tension prevailed as two groups began to form.

The police intervened before the situation could go out of hand, and threatened to resort to lathi charge, after which the groups dispersed.

Time keepers of the bus Ramesh and Mohan filed a complaint against Babu, Madhu, Girish and Santhu in this regard.

Hanif and Asim, who were admitted to Ajjarkad hospital, said that while buses named 'Kripa' and 'Devi' were allowed to run, their bus was stopped by the protesting group.

Some Moral policing going on this matter people are trying to create communal tension. If any person has done a crime, let the police take action, do not misbehave. Criminal is a criminal whether Hindu Muslim or Christian . But do not harass religion for somebody for their crimes. Grow up, there are many things to be looked after. Power water, etc. If you have so much problem tell the Govt you do not need police.

I know people from shirva and around are broad minded specially the women whose husbands are working in the gulf and i saw many times whenever i traveled on a bus many boys and men try to misbehave with them specially bus conductors. So there must be an end. And the women and girls should be more careful when talking to these people.

Holder of the banners should be arrested for instigating communal tension! What religion has to do with it! Every wrong doer is punishable. If this man has molested...he is arrested! Why BD is trying for communal unrest!! Certainly there are jobless interested in riots to take place in shirva! Wish BD and other groups, let people live in peace! What happened about this case ? What about the life and feelings of that little girl? Was she not a girl???? minor??? Do not create communal disharmony because of your dirty politics. People of South Canara and Udupi are peace loving people. Do not divide the people because of your selfish politics..

She was with her Dad when the incident took place. and incident took place at around 8.30 PM which I don't think the worst time to travel by minor girl. Minor girl should not be 10 years of age. Minor girl in the sense the girl with age less than 18. Many girls with the age 15 to 17 do work in shops and travel to their house in the evening. I hope you are aware of this.

Where are these protesters when such things happen by the same community people? We should not entertain such things and give protection, but brining religion here will not solve any problems. All these are jobless people simply making noise. It's a clear indication that they were targeting other community people because they have again targeted other community bus employees. Why simply attack on bus employees? Do these people travel only by their community owners bus? Nonsense. Please take strict action against these people.

"Annya Koumina vyakti" did molestation and it is wrong, so there was a big protest and band. If ' Ide koumina vyakti' does molestation.. no problem, no protest. What does it mean. According to them molestation is allowed within the community, it is not an offense, but if it is done by a person belongs to other community,it is the biggest crime. Believe me 90% of the protesters even doesn't know, for what they are protesting.. they just get the order and they follow the orders blindly. This is indian poli tricks.

The word ' molestation' needs a broader definition. Initiating a conversation or accidental touching cannot be prosecuted. Crowded places can be very dangerous for men as then can be framed or falsely prosecuted and used by communal forces. Some comments call the person as ' old' but he too has right for young candy . if he is within limits and talks or strikes a communication with a girl is not offense or perversion by any standards.

I think , we cannot blame nobody either this Young Girl or this Old man. Proper investigation has to be conducted. It is not important to mention the cast, but in fact what happens who knows, maybe the girl statement is reliable and may she has given forcefully to get credit. Why this incident happens every time between inter cast people. I do not think no Association or Group leader needed to solve this issue even though we have chain of commands like Police station. Why these group leaders alert on these type of unnecessary things. If they want to get reputation do some help those who expecting help in the hospitals with renal diseases instead of spending money on these cut out or Red shawl to show their unity is worthless wasting not only their time and also disturbing other Innocents.

Protesting a crime on the basis of the social problem is better than the basis of any religion... its an a individual crime.. he should be punished...but what you are doing its good for social change.. the banner of protest is embarrassing... the protest with such banners should not provoke any community for communal violence.. its not the crime committed by the whole community.... but let it take place in a better way.. the words in the banner are questioning. Will the people accept the crime if it happens by the same community? No, never... so... so protesting it as a crime is better than protesting it as communal crime..

I think bundh is not necessary as the culprit has already been arrested.
Please do not protest as certain groups, but protest as humans for rights.
These saffron/BD/Rama sene/VHS all are more corrupted than politicians and they have hidden agenda.
My advice is the culprit should be punished severely and fined heavily.(court will decide)
BUNDH doesn't work for good as it is a loss to the daily bread winners and also an additional tax to be borne by our Karnataks govt.
Please bear in mind any loss of public properties/bundh or torching vehicles or any destructions done by the public the Govt has to bear the expenses and who is responsible for this when the 2014-2015 budget rolls out!

Mr. William. May be if I had sat in a far off place like Bantwal, even I would appreciate the people of Shirva. But let me tell u the fact which I faced this morning. Only after coming to the bus-stop at 7.30 am, I got to know these people with Saffron Shawl, had called for a Bandh. A group of 7-8 men, with Saffron shawl, bought a huge plank of wood and placed on the road. The vehicles which just reached that spot, had to move back, since they were not ready to hear anyone. Small children who had been there to go to school, were in a dilemma, whether to go back home, or school. People who had come down by train from Bombay, were stuck in between, since there was not buses, nor autos, not even two-wheelers.
I'm sure, even if there were ladies, on their way to the hospitals, these people would stop them.
Cruel minded!! There should have at least an intimacy that there would be Bandh the following day. This clearly shows that, they were on the streets to create conflict and build anxiety in the minds of innocent people.

Very shameful act! Sad to say I stay in such dirty place!!

This is when the parents fail to control the children's activities in their home, The fundamental cause lies in the progressive failure of the family system in India. Most children rarely listen to parents on any moral grounds. Parents have brought up children like this, part of the blame to be taken by them as well. Such types of activities are an eye opener of more dangers ahead for the kids.
