Kuwait: Guruprasad Hegde elected president Buntara Sangha

Kuwait, Jan 21: Buntara Sangha Kuwait held their annual general body meeting on January 10 at the Al Jawhara Al Ahlea School, Riggae. The program commenced with a prayer followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp by Managing Committee.
 
Vice president Shankar Shetty Padukudoor, welcomed the audience by extending his heart felt gratitude to all members for their whole hearted cooperation in all activities during the year, he requested the members to stay united and continue to cooperate in all welfare of the Sangha.Vishwanath Shetty, Gen. Secretary, presented the annual report and treasurer Vivek Kumar Shetty submitted the annual statement of account.

President Umesh Shetty Adve, briefed the audience both the social and philanthropy activities of the association, he further extended gratitude to all the members who contributed their time &resources to serve the needy under HEMA (Health, Education, and Marriage Assistance) scheme and appealed to all members to wholeheartedly contribute to this scheme.
 
As customary, the Managing Committee felicitated the newly married couple without dowry as part of the social commitment of the Sangha. The Managing Committee presented Certificate of Appreciation and memento to all Sub-Committee members for their immense cooperation and to the success of Sangha activities during the year 2013.

Sudhakar Shetty Aikala, a veteran and one of the popular leader among various associations in Kuwait, including Buntara Sangha appreciated the wisdom and cordial gesture shown in relinquishing all bygone misunderstanding among few Sangha members in the past and uniting under the umbrella of Buntara Sangha Kuwait, he stressed the importance of unity and brotherhood among the members.

A maturity of understanding was needed and the senior leaders took the right path to move ahead in the interest of the community and to reach an amicable solution, so as all members work closely together under a common agenda towards all socio-welfare activities of the Sangha.

Karunakar Shetty Ajekala, the designated election officer conducted the elections for year 2014 Managing Committee. The following office bearers were declared to have been elected to serve as office bearers for the year 2014.

Treasurer : Shodhan Shetty

Guruprasad Hegde the new president, who played an important role in bringing together all members in the interest of the Sangha, welcomed the past members back to the Sangha and appreciated them for their understanding, he also praised the senior members for extending all cooperation and to the success which wouldn’t have been possible without their wishful vision. The new managing team introduced themselves and affirmed their commitment to serve the association to the best of their abilities and to continue to keep the pride and glory of the Sangha at its pinnacle.

The AGM witnessed various cultural programs meticulously performed by the Sangha kids which entertained the audience.

Oriental Restaurant distributed gift vouchers to the kids who participated at the recent concluded mega program Buntaayana.
Mrs. Prithvi Shetty, Sandesh Shetty and Manoj Kumar Shetty, anchored the program marvelously.Cultural programs were

organized and orchestrated by Shalini Yadunath Alva and team. Outgoing General Secretary Vishwanath Shetty delivered the vote of thanks.

The evening came to an end with a fun filled housie game and singing of India national anthem, followed by dinner from Oriental Restaurant.
