Udupi: Facebook case - Accused Yaseer granted bail

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi

Udupi, Jan 21: Mohammed Yaseer, who was recently arrested for allegedly uploading obscene photos of a girl on Facebook, has been granted bail.

Yaseer had allegedly uploaded photos on Facebook showing him with a girl in a compromising position. The incident had caused much furore in the twin districts.

Yaseer was arrested on January 10 after the girl filed a complaint against him in Manipal police station. The police had said that according to the complaint, Yaseer and his girlfriend in Dubai had deliberately uploaded the photos online to trouble the girl. Yaseer and the girl had been involved in a love affair for 10 months, it was said.

Though various organizations have been demanding police to frame rape charges against the accused, the girl admitted to the police that the photos were taken with her knowledge and consent. Hence, the police could not book Yaseer for rape.

As Yaseer faces only cyber crime charges, the district court agreed to release him on bail.

Just tell me how can both be responsible when only the guy uploaded the photos on FB? Moreover is the onus only on girls to avoid physical relation? Shouldn't the onus to avoid physical relations be on the guy who initiated it? By your post, it seems you're trying to justify the actions of Mohd Yaseer and blaming the girl for it.

My question is to the lawmakers, why do we have this kind of law of granting bail. If a person has committed some crime put him behind bars without granting bail.
Now Yaseer has committed a crime and he has got bail.
    Sanjay Dutt is granted bail.
Why doesn’t our court ask the criminals while giving judgment: Do you like to stay in jail or would like to go on bail?

Please do not confuse and mix everything here. Let us divide the entire episode into two parts. First part was to have sex with a girl and click photographs whilst having pleasure. Second part is posting those pictures in Facebook.
As per Indian law the first part is punishable if it happens with force, but here it happened with mutual consent. So rape charges are not applicable. Second part is posting those pictures in Facebook, which is punishable under judiciary but bailable. Hence bail was granted.

Bail must not be granted to him. if I am a true believer of Islam, I must condemn the act of Yaseer and he must behind the bars at least for 2 years, so that his arrogant behavior must change. I am pleading with our Muslim bro' don't be biased, it is a major sin. On that he is publishing on the social network. Could anyone please tell me what he actually was trying to prove and what was his motive behind that? And those who were circulating pamphlets by appreciating his act are same like him. They don't value their wives, daughters and mothers.

This kind of youths we can find in every community, boys and girls and whatever they do, the community will not support them for their deeds, for these boys and girls its just a time pass and fun, but when something goes wrong, there are few organizations wants to give communal colour and drags the whole community as they done in Udupi while students protest. I salute hafsa to take the mike in her hand during the protest to say don't blame Muslims for yassers's deed, we equally condemn and we are here to protest along with our sisters and only one newspaper has highlighted in their report but our daijiworld our beloved portal in dubai bridging the gap of gulf also failed to report the same. We should teach lessons to such youths either by counsel or boycotting them totally.

Democracy won as things sorted out with the bail. I wonder why the girl is also not booked as she equally responsible. Applying sexual harrasement charges is a joke as both are consenting parties . If verbal statement only to be considered for prosecution then it can be grossly misused. Police cannot file FIR for the of hat as its clearly violation of human and men rights.
