Beltangady: Newly-built St Antony Shrine inaugurated at Naravi

Beltangady, Jan 22: The annual feast and the inauguration of St Antony Shrine were held at Naravi church here Wednesday January 22.

A large crowd gathered at Naravi church campus to celebrate the annual feast and inauguration of the newly-built Shrine.

St Antony Shrine was inaugurated by Dr Aloysius Paul D’ Souza, bishop of Mangalore at 9.30 am. The Festal mass began at 10 am presided over by the bishop along with several priests.
         
The bishop preached the word of God on the Sacrament of reconciliation and urged the congregation to receive this sacrament every month. A beautiful choir doubled the joy of the feast.
         
Fr Arun Wilson Lobo, principal of St Antony College welcomed the gathering and parish priest Fr Louis Cutinha thanked everyone.

The parish priest offered a cheque of Rs one lac  to the bishop on behalf of the parishioners of Naravi for the noble cause of Africa mission.
         
As a spiritual preparation for the annual feast, nine days of Novena was held. Every Tuesday at 11 am adoration was held followed by mass and meals were served.
