Bantwal, Jan 23: An unusually large mushroom has become the cynosure of all eyes at Vagga of Kavalapadur gram in Bantwal taluk.

The mushroom is found growing beside the Tulsi plant at the house of Chennappa Kulal. The locals have termed it a natural wonder.

Mushrooms can usually be found growing in the corners of houses or stems of trees, especially in Malnad regions during the rainy season.  They are also called 'Nayi Kode' in Kannada apparently due to their appearance.

Mushrooms grow close to the ground on a stem with a cap or plate like structure on top.  They can also be seen in different shapes and colors.  They are also called 'Lambu' in local Tulu language

The mushroom here has grown to a diameter of three feet in just ten days.  Though most mushrooms collapse after a few days, this one is still growing, said Chennappa Kulal.

As the news spread, curious locals visited Kulal's house to view the wonder mushroom and expressed their astonishment.

It’s natures wonder. Better some experts do proper investigation on soil and it's growth, which may help students and scientist. If possible should preserve it, if not better cook and eat every one, before it spoil, it may bring luck too.
