I think Kasargod is the Gold town of India. The gold, which is seized should be used towards Airport taxes so the tax burden on other passengers is less.

    hey lancer ,
if Kasargod people are banned from Mangalore airport , then the airport has to shut down in a year or two .As most of the international passengers belongs from Kasargod .

    Ye duniya bhi ajeeb hai...
Everybody dreams for something better in life.People go to distant gulf countries, other countries in search of earning bread and to fulfil their dreams.Whatever they do is by hard working.Gold buying and bring it to India is treated as illegal as long as it is done without payment of tax.Otherwise, what is wrong in doing so?Let govt simplify the gold bringing procedure by NRIs by charging minimum tax.Big scams in this happen in this country from to time involving thousands of croes of rupees and people are not bothered about that.Only legitimate citizens suffer due to an ill conceived policy of the govt.

Please ban passengers from Kasargod entering or leaving from Mangalore airport. Otherwise built a separate airport at Kasaragod for these smugglers.
