Mangalore, Jan 27: The 37th musical nite of ‘Sangeeth Sardar’ Wilson Olivera on Sunday, January 27 weaved melodious magic at St Agnes Special School ground, bringing complete entertainment to the audience who sat in rapt attention.

Nearly 15 Konkani songs from six albums composed by Wilson Olivera were presented during the evening. The songs captivated the audience with their meaningful lyrics complimented perfectly by music and dance.

The selection of songs was a mixture of various music genres. If some songs were sober, some were fast, some slow and others mellow.

The Nach Sobhann troupe performed scintillating dance moves that added more colour to the event. The intervals were full of entertainment too, with witty comedy that was well received by the audience.

The show, hosted by Alfred Bennis, Mangalore and St Joseph Funeral Fund committe, Jeppu, ignited a whole lot of cheer and laughter which in itself was a testimony to the success of the event.

The first song, ‘Thumso ugdas ayilo’ presented by Wilson Olivera and then other numbers such as ‘Sobith baye thuzo aso’, ‘Vosonk asa’, ‘Aaz kaal, bharathanth..gadtha kithe’ transported the audience to another world.

Zeena Pereira, Robin and Carol Sequeira, Rony Crasta, Stewart Olivera, Prashant Pinto were among others who entertained the crowd with a number of songs. ‘Motheenth ek asha’, ‘konn re thu’, ‘Kenna kenna..mujya kalzanth’ were some of the songs that enchanted the listeners.

Earlier, Fr Nelson D Almeida, parish priest, St Joseph’s Church, Jeppu inaugurated the show. MCC Bank president Francis Cutinho, Fermai, Elias Sanctis, Alfred Bennis, Josephine D’Cruz, William Furtado were among others present on the dais during the short stage programme.

In my opinion Sri.RONY CRASTA who is a best singer in konkani world, yesterday in Oliveras nite sung very well than other singers. No photo of Rony Crasta is seen published in the daijiworld photos which is not fair.

Thank you Daiji for bringing it Live. The songs were good and so also the comedy. Listening to Wilson Olivera closing your eyes hears like Sir Wilfy singing.
