Mangalore, May 18:
The Beary Literary Fest will be held on Friday May 19 at Town Hall here, said Central Beary Literary Association president M B Abdul Rehman while speaking to reporters here on Wednesday May 17. The ceremony will begin at 4 pm.

The Beary Literary awards will be presented on the occasion. A cassette will also be released. The awards will be given away by B M Idinabba, former president, Kannada Development Authority.

The chief guest will be Dr M Mohan Alva, chairman, Alva's Education Foundation. The function will be presided over by M B Abdul Rehman, president, Central Beary Literary Association.

U R Ananthamurthy will release the book 'Bidugadeya Dari' at 7 pm. There will also be a debate on the topic 'divorce - a boon or a bane.' Dr B M Hegde, former vice-chancellor, MAHE, K Sharada Bhat and M S M Abdul Rashid Zaini Khamil Sakhafi, state president, SSF, will take part.

Among those present at the press meet were Association president A A Hyder Parthipady, Bashir Baikampady and treasurer U T Khader.
