Mangalore, Jan 29: 32-year-old Babitha Karkera, who died in a tragic road accident near Um-al-Nar on Dubai - Abu Dhabi road on January 21, was cremated her hometown in Mulky on Tuesday January 28 amid family, friends and a large number of well-wishers.

The mortal remains were brought by flight to Mangalore via Mumbai on Tuesday afternoon. The body was shifted to another coffin at Suratkal and taken to Kolachi Kambla in Bappanadu, Mulky where the last rites were conducted.

Babitha was a senior manager at Apple company.

Relatives, friends, well-wishers and locals gathered at the residence and paid their final respects to the deceased. As the body was completely charred, it was not taken out from the coffin. The body was then taken to Mulky Hindu crematorium and the funeral rites were conducted. The rituals were performed by Babitha's husband Rohit Karkera.

Officials and colleagues from Apple company in UAE where she worked were also present. Among them were American Ben King, regional director of Apple in UAE, senior official Franklin of British nationality, area manager Khushbo from Delhi and others.

Ben King who earlier spoke at Babitha's residence recalled Babitha as a person with a beautiful heart, who was creative and hardworking. "She had climbed the ladder of success in her career through hard work and dedication. May god grant her family the strength to bear the irrepairable loss. May her soul rest in peace," he said.

Students and staff from her college and school were also present to bid their final adieu to Babitha.

May the soul of Babitha Karkera rest in eternal peace. My deepest and heartfelt sympathies to her husband, her two beautiful boys and the entire bereaved family. Apple in UAE have lost a hard working manager and it was kind of the Area Manager Ben King and other officials of the company to pay their last respect to the departed soul.

To her family it’s a great loss no doubt in that, see those two small kids ,in such an early age, they lost their mum.In such a young age, she was working as Senior Manager in that esteemed/ Apple Orgn..what an achievement…….!!! god should not have departed her so early.Even the Company senior officials also attended the funeral,,,!!!that means just imagine how loyal she was to the company…and no doubt the company has lost one of the huge assets , it’s a huge loss to the company to lose such a dedicated employee.Hope Company would compensate/provide a huge amount of financial support to those two kids and family ..like in the way of Insurance amt and some exgratia lumpsum amt………………………
At this point of time its really a shocking and heart breaking news…may god give enough strength to their family and two kids to bear this huge loss..
Without mother these two kids will have step up and reach a top level and achieve the ultimate goal which their mother had in her mind about those TWO Handsome kids…God bless them
