Mangalore, May 19:
The 'Hridayavantaru-2006' honourary awards will be presented to 25 Kannadigas from various fields at the All-India Kannada Cultural Convention-2006 to be organised by Hridayavahini newspaper here in collaboration with Mumbai Mathunga Karnataka Sangha on July 1 and 2 at Varadaraja Aadya Vedike in Vishweshwaraiah auditorium in Mumbai.

Speaking to reporters in a press meet convention committee president K P Manjunath Sagar informed that 'hasya goshti' a poets' meet and a seminar on 'media and society' will also be held at the convention.

He said that the inauguration will be done by Water Resource minister K S Ishwarappa. The chief guests will be Fisheries minister B Nagaraj Shetty and Bharat Co-operative Bank president Jaya C Suvarna. Deputy chief minister B S Yediyurappa and actress Jayamala will attend the valedictory programme.

As many as 200 members from Karnataka will take part. Kannadigas from all over the world are also expected to attend the convention.

A special supplement 'Suvarna Karnataka' will be brought out by Hridayavahini to mark the occasion.
