Udupi, Jan 30: The parents of children studying at Sasthan Pandeshwar government-aided school on Wednesday January 29 protested demanding transfer of headmaster, alleging that he has been misbehaving with the students.

The school has 95 children studying in classes from first standard to seventh standard.

The parents alleged that Parameshwar Acharya, the 58-year-old headmaster, has been harassing the school children physically and sexually by indecently touching girls, indulging in indecent conversations with them, beating children on their knees till they get injured etc. He has just two more years to retire.

The parents of the children and locals led by Diwaker Shetty and Pratap Shetty of Jayakarnataka association who heard about the inappropriate behavior of the headmaster came to the school to question him.  However, the headmaster chose to be absent after he heard of the protest.

The group of locals and parents demanded immediate transfer of Parameshwar Acharya.

Nagendra Shanbhog, block education officer, and Madhukar, taluk physical education officer pacified the crowd assuring that being an aided school, action will be taken after consultation with the government officials concerned.

I am having a similar view. People think the Police are useless or the colored shawl outfits made them useless. God save our country, why we are immersed with POLITICS always??????

If headmaster is beating and touching Girls indecent, they should complain to the Police and district officials.Anyway, teachers are not supposed to beat the children, whether it is a govt.or private. If he is not guilty why should he be absent?

Those wearing colorful shawls, wonder if this is their FIRST EVER Visit to a school!!!
Parents\School authorities should meet and solve the matter.
If it cannot be solved with dialogue and if the parents have enough proof of wrongdoing by the headmaster, then take the matter to the police or the Panchayat head.
Do not un-necessarily involve some useless outsiders who want to politicize this.

Beating children on their knees, till they are injured and touching them indecently seems to be contradicting. The locals and parents want him to be transferred. Is that the solution? He may continue his behavior in the next school as well. Anyway, a thorough, impartial enquiry is needed. If found guilty, he should be dismissed and not merely transferred. If he is not guilty, then, the locals and parents need to apologize for their interference.

Uncultured locals. Most of them are not parents. If the parents have complaints they should follow proper way to approach school or higher authority & not with the help of youngsters. Without knowing 100% or without proof, no one can insult teachers in public.Curse of Guru (teacher)poojary(priest)not good and it follows throughout the life.

Too much meddling with the schools by the parents is not a good sign since this will bring down the spirit of faculty members and upper hand to the students, resulting with disrespect to the teachers.Better the teachers and parents have periodical meeting and exchange their feelings.Thanq.
