Mangalore, May 20: Canute D'Souza (42) and Sunil Kumar (32), residents of Church Road near Katipalla III Block here were killed after a speeding tanker knocked them down near MRPL Cargo Gate here on Friday May 19 night.
Both Canute and Sunil were employees with Bharat Barrel Company. While Sunil was the son of Keshav Amin, Canute was the son of Charles D'Souza. Both were the residents of Church Road at Katipalla III Block near Suratkal here.
On Friday both of them were working on night shift and were on their way to the nearby canteen when a tanker (MH-4 AL- 1456) driven by Ramtej Jadhav knocked them down. As a result both of them sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital. However, they succumbed to the injuries half the way.
The Suratkal police have registered a case against the tanker driver Ramtej Jadhav in this regard.
