Sullia, May 22: Senior BJP leader and taluk panchayat vice president A S Vijaykumar (50) was killed in unfortunate circumstances here on Sunday May 21 evening.
Vijaykumar along with some neighbours and labourers was cutting a big tree near his house. Since the tree was very big, a rope was tied to the top of the tree to pull it in a particular direction as the workers cut it. But the tree fell in the other direction. He hit himself against the tree and sustained serious injuries. Though he was rushed to the hospital immediately, he had breathed his last by then.
Vijaykumar had played a major role in strengthening BJP in the taluk. If BJP possesses a stronghold in the taluk today, then it has to owe a lot to Vijakumar for this. He had rendered his selfless services in building BJP in the taluk.
